I've noticed by looking at the triggers in book 4, chapter 7: Dragon's Ascension there is an optional quest called Mercy Rewarded (Where your objective is to kill the soulless Xevious the bright along with the Sayr Altar of shadows). This quest depends on two variable to activate it, how do I activate this?

Well if I remember this one correctly it has to do with what you did to the Satyr base in chapter 4.

yup,
at the mission:dragon's eye, when the rest of the heroine's join, there is an optional quest to destroy the satyr base.
if ignoring ts presence, and ofc, finishing the mission, later on when destroying xevious' alter, kazgaroth should come as back up

I've noticed that to do that quest you must first accomplish the fountain of life quest for the Satyr quest in the first Nekurow mission in book 4...

I didn't know you were required to do the fountain of life quest (mainly, because I've never not done it).
Anyway, other than that, what I do know is- Shizu says something on the lines of- the Satyrs are weak, so we should just ignore their base, but we could destroy them if they prove too be too annoying (which I think they do). Anyway, do what Shizu says and don't destroy their 'base'. I found out that if you destroy everything except for their main tree building (and bruise that one up a bit), then they make two workers and possibly repair, but other than that they don't do anything for the rest of the level (so you stop the annoying Satyrs, but still get them as allies later, because you technically didn't do the optional quest as you left the main tree; so best of both worlds)... anyway, that worked for me.
Basically, don't complete the optional quest to destroy the Satyr base, and then you'll get the "[something something] Mercy" optional quest later on; you also may have to do the fountain of life optional quest.

If you read the info about the destroy the satyr base it says Shizuka would perfer too ignore them.
