A new project.

I'm currently making a new project right now on StarEdit. I've finished the first map, but I'm not releasing it yet. The campaign is based off of several Pink Floyd albums and has several references to anime as well. It also refers to other bands as well that I like including Tool, Nirvana, Bush, Foo Fighters and many others. It is unknown how many missions this campaign will have for the story is still being developed and changed. For sure the campaign will be called The Dark Side of the Moon. It won't have any voiceovers unless I have volunteers that can send me voice files. I would do it myself (including some of my friends), but A. I don't have a microphone, and B. Even if I did, I don't have any voice editing programs. ALSO, I do not know how to mod sadly. It doesn't mean I'm inexperienced at map making. It just means I don't know how to mod. Anyways, here is a portion of the storyline:
Roger Waters is one of a small amount of nano-soldiers that were imprisoned by the Dominion. The Dominion imprisoned them because of fear of the nano-soldiers powers. After staying in the prison for two years, Roger breaks out of a prison he had just transferred to. During his breakout, he meets a man named David Gilmour, leader of an organization called NERV who are hell bent on taking over the sector in the name of NERV. Seeing no other alternative, Roger joins NERV to get his revenge on the Dominion for the torture he had endured during his long time of imprisonment. But something is deeply wrong with this organization called NERV...
I encourage all to send me mp3's or WAV files for the speech portion of this campaign. If you audition, I can send you a script. I'm also in need of voice editing software, if there is such a thing. Also, I would like to learn how to make mods.
Thanks for your time,
Nicole

Haha sounds like a weird but interesting starcraft campaign. You most likely wont get any help with voices and stuff till your campaign is pretty much complete though.

We prefer to voice a complete, voiceless project than a mapless, voiceless project. No offense, but a lot of people's hard work in auditioning is lost by projects that aren't completed.

Reading that reminded me of all the maps I made for WC3 projects over the years that never got used because the project died. there have even been cases where those same maps that were never used were given to other people for their project. I have a map thats been in 5 failed projects, its partly the reason I stopped doing freelancer work for people I don't actually know that well. VAs have that clear picture of a project's chances as a pretty good luxury

What are nano-soldiers? I'm just picturing these miniscule little microscopic soldiers.

lol To answer some questions and comments:
1. I understand about voice stuff now, and I'll try and finish the campaign first.
2. Nano-soldiers are marines and ghosts with enhanced thinking, physical attributes, and health (:D) that we're tested on by the Dominion.

Do you know the definition of nano? It definitely does not mean enhanced. Refer to my picture.

Perhaps NANO stands for Neurally Augmented Natural Offspring?
That's clumsy, but currently I can't come up with anything better than that

Well then, what name would you give these soldiers? The reason that I make them "Nano-Soldiers" is because they are enhanced by nano technology.

Nano technology in those times would probably not be something "fascinating," per say. That's like us calling a Marine a Super Soldier cause he or she spent more time in bootcamp than the other branches. Just give them a unique classification. Much like "SOLDIER" from FF7 or "SeeD" from FF8.

Or EDAST. Expert Decision and Strategy Team.
Shaddox: "Hey Rond, give me some bacon."
Rond: "Get it yourself."

Well the thing about EDAST.. Or.. HIP.. Is that people know the abbreviation.
With SOLDIER, AVALANCHE, and SeeD, don't know what they stand for, Simple. So you could say something like "NaNO" or "NANo" Soldiers, etc. Just aesthetics, really, nothing big. I just don't find Nano-soldiers appealing since when I think Nano-soldier.. I think 1/35 Soldier from FF7.
