The cold rain drips off his jacket sleeve, his hands are frozen numb.
The bar lights dim, the curtains draw, all eyes turn to the cage.
His thoughts cut short, surprised his former lover called to the stage.
Gently, the piano soothes the club, her voice is a siren's call.
And maybe this came at no surprise, they met here after all.
Through smoke and mirrors of things that were,
she sings the song he played for her
and both of them choke,
what a joke.
Nothing ever lasts.

Nice work on all the tracks you have posted on your SoundCloud. This one definitely had me looking over my shoulder to see if Mike Hammer was coming in the door, or maybe I'd accidentally traveled to Sin City. I really liked Death is But A Road Between Us, though. Very moody and well produced.
