Hey all do you guys have any good sites, or recommended sound tracks that are good for background tracks in camapgins?

It totally depends on your campaign. What worked for someone's anime campaign might not work for your drama.

www.zophar.net -> plenty of SNES, Playstation, Sega Genesis and stuff. Gotta love old school game music.

If you tell me what kind of tracks do you need(ambience, action, boss music, drama etc), I might be able to help. :)

With a little knowledge turning a midi into a great mp3 is quite doable. Try to wiki it. ;)

The way I do it is go into my sound card control panel, and set the microphone channel to record the midi channel.

Not what I meant really. MIDI is basically just notes. You can tell your computer to use better instruments to make it sound better. But it's going into the basics of music composition on the computer.

I had no clue this was possible, I'll check that out!

Been possible for years. I used to it for SC in '99, haha. Back when "Gambler's Heaven" was the best map ever. If you want a quick process search for MIDI2WAV, but you wont get such a beautiful transition as if you were to select the instruments via custom soundfonts yourself or.. what Maggz said.

That's totally the wrong way to go about it. I myself don't use something from a game until after I've heard it and can somehow think of something that goes with it.

The entire stinkin Wanderers of Sorceria started as a tribute to Ys, which has some of the finest game music known to exist (although Book 3 and the events stemming from it is more or less a tribute to Dynasty Warriors).

You and your weird music taste. I know some people had to turn off the music while playing WoS especially book 1 and 2.
Count Zule's music theme was suicide. "Have a rhythm" That music drove me insane. It's so bad, .but I have to admit that  the majority of the music used in WoS are decent.
