I <3 Fraps

Too bad Camtasia has only a few similar features to FRAPS, Camtasia being the more advanced product.

Camtasia sucks. It desyncs audio and it tends to utterly destroy video quality. SnagIT is basically camtasia with a different layout. I have messed with both programs and they do not in any way compare to Fraps or Growler Guncam.

Although the exception may be desktop recording which I have yet to test with Growler but it doesn't solve Camtasia's desync issues across many different sound platforms.

Installed Camtasia and their recording program just crashes when I try to record on the desktop. Unfortunately, since the record doesn't start even by pressing the program's hotkey in Warcraft 3 or some other game, it's just useless to me.

EDIT : *Sigh* I had to close the Studio part and manually start that recorder sub-program to avoid it crashing.

EDIT 2 : At the very least, it manages to record the desktop although the odd crashes when opening the various sub-programs and switch to the next one are annoying. It didn't manage to record the sample sound right.

Ah yeah. Do not change resolutions or color depth when recording. Camtasia won't take it. Guncam can though.
