With the recent pre-sale of the Orange Box, Team Fortress 2 has gone public on Beta. Anyone here grab a copy of it themselves? I've been playing most likely at the inappropriate times (finals week) but I still find each round to be enjoyable. Quite possibly the game to put Counter-Strike away as leading multiplayer PC FPS.

A classmate of mine has got it.
I got lucky enough to grab a Universe at War beta. >8D!\
I feel dirty, I have a gamertag now. The probability that a gold membership will be required when the game is finished means I'll most likely not purchase it. Oh well, it looked so fun.

classmates thoughts and screens. Not my words, or opinions, its his.
There is no nda. This thing is public beta tested, especially since you can try the game out by going to a cybercafe.
Anyways, some screenies!
My thoughts on the game over at hl2world.com
Absolutely great game. I had so much fun playing it. Its great that each character has his own personality, especially the Spy. I'm just blown by how much thought was put into making the spy work well in the game.
The other major highlights is the fact that this game has Achievements!! So now your steam account can be accompanied by your greatest feats in your profile.
Oh and I can see the Commentary is definitely working out well. Very Happy
It runs really smoother with everything on high. AA on 2x, and motion blur on.

Mantis: Steam is required, plus you have to purchase the Orange Box as mentioned in the first post.

ok let me answer all your questions.
currently, the only way you can get team fortress 2 is by
pre-ordering the orange box on steam.
the orange box consists of the following super awesome games:
Half-life 2
Half-life 2 Episode 1
Peggle Deluxe (its a little child game they included in the pack, trust me, one you start playing you won't be able to stop)
Portal
Half-Life 2 Episode 2
and of course Team-fortress 2
I advise you to pre-order it NOW!!! I've done so and I'm enjoying every minute of it!
The new steam community has made steam a whole lot cooler.
