Help with a campaign!

So I have begun making some testing with the editor and making some maps to test my skills as a potential map and campaign maker. :p I even have a nice plot to convert into a campaign. However, I have many doubts about the editor.

- Terrain is not hard to do. Once I got used to it, I found it pretty easy to create any kind of map I wanted. More difficult is to place doodads, specially in big maps, which may get boring, but anyway. :D
- While testing a map, I found that in my game, the players colors weren't the same as I had set them in the editor. For example, in one map I had four players, blue, white, brown and purple. But when I play the game, the white changes to purple, blue to brown, purple to blue and brown to white! I'm doing something wrong? :(
- Switchs. What are they really for? How can I use them, and what is the best way to use them?
- I saw than in Pronogo's and omega20's maps there is custom music within them. How can I put my own music into my map so it plays like it does in their campaigns?

This is all for now. Thank you all for your help!

Hey dude!

For your colours problem, this is actually a quite simple but common mistake, I used to do it all the time. What you need to do is open up your forces and uncheck all of the 'Random Start Location' boxes, like this:

For music, here's the deal. First, get in your map, and open up the sound file manager, and import your song (don't forget to save your song as a *.wav file first).

From here, just use this tutorial to loop your music.

Switches are a little more complicated, you need an idea of what exactly your gonna do before you can figure them out, but here's basically what they do:

If your trigger says...
Conditions:
Player 3 suffers loss of at least 3 Terran Marine.
Actions:
Set switch 'Switch 01'.
...then the game will know to set 'Switch 01' when three Marines die for Player 3. You could go on to make another trigger...
Conditions:
'Switch 01' is set.
Player 5 commands 1 Ultralisk.
Actions:
Kill all buildings for player 3.
...then the game will kill all buildings for Player 3 as soon as 'Switch 01' is set and Player 5 has an Ultralisk. I hope this made some sense.

There's some more tutorials here if you need them.

Haha, I hope I was some help.

It worked, all of it! Thank you so much! :) :) :) I'll look into the tutorials with more detail later on. The switch thing also worked! I'll have to experiement with them a bit more though. ;) Thanks!

I can run through a simplified version of my YouTube voice recording/editing tutorials and post it up if you find yourself interested in any of that stuff.
