Take a Step Back in Time

I've added a very memorable old forum thread to our Articles pages. It's the history of Campaign Creations, basically. In there you will see very familiar faces of the "golden ages." Take a gander and have a nice read, you're sure to crack a smirk or two if you're a veteran of the community.

Yeah no mention of me either lol, I'd been in the forums for almost 2 years by then but that thread was during the period at the end of high school when my dad cut off my internet access

I'm mentioned on page 1 in the original version!
In Deveron's Sig. With my old username, Kellanved...
The Officially Unofficial Alliance Party and the United Lurker Party shall rise again!

Nope, CC is currently ruled by the Fascist Party. Short and simple. I run it. >)

As if we were ever a credible threat to your take over anyway.
Being Officially Unofficial (as opposed to Unofficially Offical) put TOUAP outside the system, so we couldn't even vote for ourselves. As for the ULP, despite the overwhelming number of Lurkers, not one of them turned up to vote
Mind you, in TOUAP's heyday, we rivaled the Communist Party in size (not including, of course, the ULP's infinite number of non-participating Lurkers). There was a certain lure to TOUAP's platform of lurking, pie, defying Mantis Screamer, allying with other parties and whatever the other parties TOUAP consumed believed in.

Yeah, a year or two after that thread, when the CC forum was again going through a blue phase, I declared the Stop Party Activism Movement dedicated to the terrorist hijacking of any further "political party" threads

(and yes even at the time I recognised the irony in giving it a name)

And there was only two major shocker images ever posted at Campaign Creations. The first was by Vivi, where he posted a gay image of a man spreading his butt cheeks wide open. Surprisingly, he was never banned. And then Magic showed his arse in all its glory, woof!
well now! this explains EVERYTHING.
BTW, the shocker image vivi posted is called goatse.
-----
The CC History:
-The Rennaisance (Starcraft is released)
*some stuff happened to Desler.. and then he moved on*
-Start of the CC Era (Starcraft & Age of Kings)
-The Awakening & Enlightenment Age
---A Starcraft Mod is first invented
---The Antioch Chronicles Episode 1 is released
---Starcraft: Brood War is released
-Growing Up Period
---Somewhere in this period, AoK is removed from CC
---Mods become the standard in campaign making
-The Economic Boom (Desler becomes sloppier in keeping up with his campaigns)
-The Second Rennaisance (Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos is released)
-New Beginnings (Desler leaves CC and appoints a new trusted leader, RCX, to take over his site)
-The War of the Second Millenium (Some disputes go on with Desler and RCX)
-The Revolution (RCX retaliates)
-The Fall of CC (Suddenly Desler discharges RCX and the CC community)
-The Revival of CC
-The Dark Ages (Warcraft 3 is the standard game but very few high quality campaigns in sight and there is yet to be a "chronicle" breakthrough)
-The Dark Ages II (CURRENT) (Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne is released and a Blizzard breakthrough of the new campaign system is released from the game company. Still awaiting the completion of the project)
this is right before WoW was released which is 2004.
I'll continue it (from my limited perspective):
- The black ages (WoW is released drying up the starcraft community and leaving the forum with only a trickle of blood in WCIII)
- The Death (2006= The website goes down, The forum becomes almost dead, the only remaining CC staff member is honejasi, I joined CC)
- The resurgence (may 2007= starcraft II is announced, people finally begin quitting that accursed game WoW)

Ultimately, it was blizzard that killed WC3, robbing it of the its potential longevity (as SC1 still enjoys) by releasing WoW when it did.
Hopefully, no such thing will happen after SC2.
