Built on Freespace Opensource project this mod is just amazing, there's 2 chapters, Age of Aquarius and War In Heaven, War in Heaven is not voice acted and was released relatively recently, Age of Aquarius however has a decent voice cast and is as far as I know complete.
If you like space shooters you should DEFINITELY get this one IMMEDIATELY.
You'll need data files from original FS2 tho.

How unfortunate that I've never played any Freespace game, I was too sucked into Freelancer at the time.

For those who don't have Freespace 2, the open source version is available online. If you can't find it, let me know.

DoW problem is that this mod is set in FS2 universe, it's an addon story but it uses some assets and thus does not work without original data files.
You can always... erm... obtain it tho...

The data files should be the same, as far as I know. The only difference is the improved graphics engine in the open source one.

FS2 has been open source for a while and is thus free.

I know engine is free but is the original creative content free too?

Yes, although FS Open has since been taken down from its official host because of the copyright changing hands. You can still buy or find an alternative FS Open host, the install the FS Open installer:

I still have my doubts, particularly because of the huge size font on that post that blatantly states that this is in fact not FS2, Blue Planet states that it needs the original game VPs as well as FS2 Open 3.6.12 to function. Oh well whatever you can try using it with that, but be sure to update the executables to Inferno 3.6.12 else you'll get all sorts of weird crap happening.
