Load Next Map

After much cursing and testing, I found that setting maps to load after the end of a map is mostly broken, with an exception; maps in the game's map directory ( C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Maps ) will load. So good news for single-player developers and bad news for the others: you can make single-player campaigns.

So you're saying no multiplayer campaigns?

No hope for a MP campaign with the restrictions, anyway.

Multiplayer campaigns are currently impossible, it seems.

I would say the thing that is most likely to kill multiplayer campaigns other than the "Load Next Map" trigger is the retarded bank limits (more or less 80 integer values ... globally, not on player basis) over B.net 2.0 without hanging the game loading until it inevitably drops you. This kills the potential to get any decent amount of saved data to carry over to the next map of a campaign.

I tried using this as player 2 on the first map, and on the second map I ended up as player 1. Not a good sign for keeping player order. Does it even work on multiplayer, or would every player just end up in a separate game?

The only valid directories for map-loading I've found are the Maps subdirectory of the program's directory and the game mpqs (probably within Maps, as well); my tests demonstrated campaign and challenge maps can be loaded without any problems. The only way to play multiplayer custom maps if for those maps to be published, but there is no known way to get the path of published map.
But there may be a loophole, now that you mention it. Since maps in the Maps directory can be loaded, it may be possible to publish a multiplayer map that loads those maps.

That's what I mean; I want to see if it's possible to play a downloaded map in multiplayer without publishing it using this method.

A colleague and I tried it independently; it failed. "Unable to open map." The answer is "no".
EDIT: I'm going to test some other directories.
EDIT: All tests negative; can't even load campaign maps.

Not even from the Maps directory?

Nope, doesn't work. Multiplayer map loading seems to be explicitly prohibited. It will not work regardless of directory.
I encourage everyone to test it and get pissed.

Blizzard : Banning all languages in progress. Eventually, you will have to make "signs" with units just to even communicate anything be it maps, in-game communication and so on. :p
But seriously, "own" is one of those words that you honestly wonder how it managed to end up as an "unacceptable" word. On top of it, I am wondering if it affects all words containing "own" (ex : owner, town, etc.),
