Hi,
I was wondering if there is any way to open the original (and possibly expansion) campaign levels from Starcraft in StarEdit or another editing program. If anyone could tell me if this is possible and how to do it, that'd be great!
Thanks!

use an MPQ editor to open all the .chk files from install.exe on the StarCraft CD and rename them to end in .scm instead of .chk and they should open fine
same with the Brood War CD renaming them to .scx

Thanks for the reply. I have opened install.exe with "Ladik's MPQ Editor" but I am having trouble finding where the campaign CHK files are exactly. I did find some MPQ archives within the EXE which have CHK files for some of the multiplayer maps.

they should be files like campaign\terran\terran01\staredit\scenario.chk etc
ie terran\terran01 - terran12 (only 10 maps but it goes up to 12 because of the 2 removed maps)
zerg\zerg01 - zerg10
protoss\protoss01 - protoss10
Brood War:
expprotoss\protoss01 - protoss08
expterran\terran01 - terran08 (with no "terran05" but both terran05a & terran05b)
expzerg\zerg01 - zerg10 (with no "zerg04" but all of zerg04a to zerg04f, as well as expzerg\bonus)

Thanks for the continued help, but I still can't find the CHK files or any subdirectories.
Here's what I see:

Perhaps I am not using the best MPQ viewer for the task? Or there's something obvious that I am missing.

Try using WinMPQ which is available at many sites.

Thanks!!
I guess I wasn't using the correct program in the first place (or maybe I didn't use it right).
Anyways, thanks for the help!
