Ok here's my deal...I have Starcraft on Windows 7. I've alreayd used a patch (from the Blizzard FOrums) to fix the color issue. I have been replaying VotF, but when I got to Prophecy, I loaded up the game via MPQDraft and it played fine...until I started up the first level. THe game operated like normal until it got to the point where the dialogue is to start and the game just froze up and went into an audio loop. I tried downgrading my starcraft first with BWAIDowngrader v1.16.1.c but it nearly ruined everything. NOTHING would play at all! So I had to download the patch from Blizzard and, so far, things are back to normal but I still can't play Prophecy! Cna someone PLEASE help!

If the campaign has a mod exe associated with it you absolutely must be playing that mod's version. So if the exe is for version 1.07 you need to run 1.07. Otherwise you are guaranteed to crash.

Then how am I to properly downgrade on Windows 7 and NOT have the color problem return NOR have my game be totally messed up in general?

Starcraft does not fully support windows 7 really (crashes a lot for me and a lot of other dudes). To fix colors I have to run the screen resolution dialogue in the background. That fixes it. Weird, but it works. Not for everyone, though.
If the colors still break anyways when downgrading... then I think you're SOL unless someone else knows something I don't.

My colors always break, but only for the menu screens. In game, they are perfectly fine, except for some weird colors in the water.
