I'll have you know I'm waiting here at my local Wal-Mart for the midnight release like a tool.
That being said, 10 years... Wow. I was a kid when I played the first one. Its amazing a story, characters, and game can bring me back to that giddy childhood. The wait is finally over. Any others who did the midnight release?

I'm sitting at home and buying the game tomorrow. That is... if I felt like going to the store for it.

I'm halfway installed. Darn, this game takes forever to install. It's 12GB with 37,000+ files.

Installed, finished the Mar Sara missions. So far it's quite a bit of fun, and loving the cut scenes.
Oh, and for those who picked up the CE, I'm rather impressed with the whole package. The art book is quite a bit larger than I was expecting, and although the dog tag was kind of like, uh, filler? Well, whatever, the dog tag flash drive has a metal casing, which does not feel cheap or like an afterthought to this CE.
I mean, it's all... Beautiful, even the box is nice, lol.
Fun, fun, fun!
P.s. Oh, and 12GB install on a single DVD? Nice.

Only 12gb? That's impressively tiny. I think they really improved their mpq compression or something.

Man... first I need to upgrade my computer.
Either that or I'll just bug someone who would have the game.

Where have you been, then?
Waited in line because of my impatience for my Amazon order to arrive, that I bought another collector's edition. I didn't wish to risk the possibility of it not arriving in the morning, sure enough, nothing yet from Amazon.

It's already cracked... WTF.
I guess it'll be weeks till it gets to shops here. I might even consider buying it, if I have the cash.

What, you think a pre-download for the biggest release since WoW wouldn't get cracked like everything else does?

Well I didn't know what kind of DRM blizzard used, there are ways to make games very hard to crack, but they also fuck up the user experience, seeing what blizzard did with a lot of things lately I kinda expected them to use some huge DRM bullshit on Sc2

They don't really need to for two reasons :
1) For singleplayer & mapmaking, Blizzard likely know by now that whatever anti-crack measures you put up, some cracker will find the way around it. Thus there is no point trying to put lots of DRM that might be incompatible with specific DVD drives and prevent real unlucky customers from playing the game considering the first point.
2) For multiplayer (being a very big reason people wants to play), with B.net 2.0 and no standard LAN, Blizzard pretty much ensured every player must buy SC2 short of having some private servers that they can use threats of lawsuits and actual lawsuits against their owners.

Correction. They can't stop private servers, it's a pointless effort.
Now what does work as a copy protection is stuff like was doen with Garrysmod, quite a few default and vital tools in it were made to be controlled trough steam id's, which messes up any non-steam effort to make it playable, and cracked steam clients are very unreliable, thus GMOD 10 remained uncrackable for at least a VERY long time.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if sc2 multiplayer is protected in the same way, if it is, then congrats to them, they actually have some smart anti piracy people working on it.
