new starcraft campaign/mod: LotCC

right, I'm gonna make a short unserious campaign or mod or both togther i'm not sure which one to do.
anyway, its called Lecacy of the Campaign creations.
its will feature most or all of you guys (depending in what I choose to do)
and..... yeah.

how do you change the name of units for a mod? example, change defiler hero to become xaax or lavarinth or whatever :P

Lol so your first getting into starcraft modding... tbl edit changes the name of pretty much everything in starcraft thats text.

You need to post more info on what the campaign will be like, and I believe something like this was attempted before, was it CC 2000 or something?

Yes, Manditz is right, it was CC 2000, but now we have CC 2007 so to speak if you will. Chris instead of StarCraft, try WarCraft, I realize they're are not that many characters to do so with (besides member names) because of WoS but this will be different.

CC 2000 was a contribution to the upcoming projects of CC back in those days (none of which really made it through). That'd be more of a creation by staff itself. However, a campaign or project based upon forum members or the community (which has been attempted, and completed before) is something open to anyone to do. However it's generally those more well informed with the community that attempt to make a project like this. ;)

I see alot of people are interested.
and yes 382BB, you will be in it. I think I will use the "supah battal marine" model for you ;D
this may not be a very bustling community but it is a community none-the-less. had it been very active it would be impossible to make up something as I would get lost.
I will not be using warcraft for a number of reasons:
1) I can't find anyway to translate you into warcraft characters (I mean common, lavarinth the necromancer?)
2) I suck so badly at making warcraft maps
3) is it possible to even make a warcraft mod?!
4) bah

anyway, I see no one has answred my question...right, i'll just write down the ideas and give them to you guys to make a mod.
so far my ideas looks like this:
lavarinth: defiler
382BB=marine
AA7=dragoon
Fatburger=siege tank
Hunter_killerz=..duh ::)
Doctor doack= mutalisk/guardian (for the campaign I think there will be a point where he morphs from one to the other)
taeradun=zealot
TCP: battlecruiser
warbringer: reaver
maglok= Ultralisk
Desler=Dark templar
RazorClawX= arbiter
more to be added...

the mod will be applied to the hero units, not the ordinary ones (example: "taeradun" name in place of "fenix" not "zealot")
also, fiddle with the weapons.dat as much as ya want to create coool weapons and stuff. one important note "change the names of the weapons to cool stuff, like "SC mod, 32 damage" "w32.spam, 16 damage" also, try and change "ensnare spell" into "anti-requiemD" and "stimpack" into "requiemD"...oh and "mind control" into "Xaran" ;D..........also if possible make "minerals" into "pie" ;D
feel free to add stuff.
anyway, I'll make a campaign based on the mod you guys come up with, but I simply don't have the time to make it myself anymore. I have alot of real life stuff to do, no thanks to all the time I wasted on that blasted porn site >.<

We all know how to work a mod Chris, we know what to do and how you will change, do you need still help working the mod?

But for WC3 you dont make mods anymore, you can do ALL that with just the normal map editor, its easy.

I like that he's making it an SC mod. IMO, SC has the best gameplay of any Blizz RTS, and I have more fun making maps and mods for SC than WC3.
