Okay, I got somethin weird that I want help on

Recently, the executables for LotC, Vision of the Future, etc etc.

Stopped working

I cannot get them to run, what's bizarre about this is the fact that they did work and now suddenly they don't. What's even more weird is that the Ascension of Duran executables work just fine, and I can play them just fine...

Ooookay, I strongly suspect it has to do with the fact that I'm running these off of Windows7, except I normally don't have problems with this anyway.

Here's a screenshot of the error that causes the executables to not work

I've circled what W7 is the name of the problem

Anyone have any clues?

Ugh just ignore this, I just discovered that downgrading the versions worked

Downgrading Starcraft's version is one way.  Another thing that might help is running  the .exe s in Windows 2000 compatibility mode.  I found that they work more often in a lower Windows setting.

Sorry if necroposting, but this is the only topic I found regarding the campaigns I'm interested in (LotC, etc). I tried doing most things people suggest (MPQ, compatibility and such), and nothing works. The only thing I didn't try is downgrading (currently running at 1.15.2(?)). I got the "remastered" verision, which works great under win 7. Problem is, all the mod.exes start up, make the screen flash and the cursor spin... and then I get kicked back to the desktop.

You need the proper version. Period. Anything that uses old addresses in the exe plainly will not run with different versions.

What is the "remastered version"?
