Beta down What now?

This is something that has been nagging at me for a while now.
Why has someone not built a not so easy AI yet?
You guys are way smarter than me and I don't understand the editor threads.
We have the maps and the editor, what is holding us back? I mean this is what CC does.
Now that Beta is down all I can do is play by myself and work on build orders that may or may not work.

If anything, the AI is too powerful.

To my understanding the AI's normal, hard, etc modes are already available if you adjust some files or something along those lines. To better answer your questions- We're scenario creators, not AI producers.

That was/is BWAI's department, as I understand it. But I have no idea what they are doing now. Maybe they are working on something SC2 related?

More importantly, the actual version of the Galaxy Editor has no more than 50 percent at content.
It's only possible to make boring multiplayer maps

, the true heartful art comes with the campaign material, which will be included in the fully version of the editor.
So, you're looking for some action? Play the
Antioch Chronicles or
Vile Egression for the good old StarCraft: Brood War. This game dies in a few weeks... And this time for real...

There are plenty of AI's out there already, you just need to look for them.

The editor has pissed most major developers off, those that are using it right now are more tinkering with it than making real projects, and those that are making real projects will have to invest a great deal of time to overcome even the most basic aspects of their projects due to the inefficient and foreignness of the editor.
BWAI as a whole is not doing much if anything with sc2, but Zalamander and AIAndy (guys who made AMAI) are working on sc2 and already had a functional AI some time ago.

You post bugs with the editor, I guess? Thats the only part of beta left standing.

Sure, if they do something about the billion other things I've posted about regarding the editor.

You can play a map via testing the map, so essentially, single player anything still works.

Speaking of AI, how much you guys bet the campaign AI will be as shallow as WC3's?

The files for the harder AI's pretty much don't exist at the moment but its alot easier to work with if you wanted to make something harder.

I found another build order tester that you may be interested in.
I don't use it very well because the game speed is set to faster and I'm not skilled enough to go at that speed.
It gives you 7 minutes to stop a scout, followed by a small harassment, and finally a timing push.
The AI creates units so he only has a townhall but you get points for scouting it. Try it, you might like it.
Here is the link to get the map...

If anything I'm persistant. I wanted to play SC II offline during Beta's downtime against something other than Blizzard's very easy AI.
Here it is
http://sc2.nibbits.com/assets/starcrack-allin1/
It includes StarCrack AI's for Easy Medium Hard and Insane along with Blizzard's very easy.
Here is a link to the Green Tea AI
http://sc2.nibbits.com/assets/green-tea-ai/
Another AI that I have not checked out as I'm busy trying to beat StarCrack's Easy AI at normal speed.

I tested out a debuff to the Hydralisk's attack speed (changed from 0.83 to 0.95). Against about 16-18 Marines, the Hydralisks only lost about 4 out of 12 of their number. They felt more SC1-ish with such a debuff, but still anihilate marines fairly efficiently (and rightly so).
Just something I did whilst waiting for beta phase 2.
