So I've hit Gold rank: 1 with 254 points, however, how do I advance to Platinum?  I've already beaten a couple of other opponents at rank 1, and I still haven't elevated.

The ladder is fun, but frustrating.  One loss, and you could be playing 1-2 games just to catch up again.

Just win a lot in a row, that's the only guaranteed way. And by a lot I mean like 5-10.

Correction, you just remain in the top positions for a predetermined time unknown to players, only to Blizzard. You will be automatically promoted if you are in those ranks when that time comes.

Ummm not really, you can be #1 and be stuck forever. I was #5 and I was promoted faster than #1 and he was stuck there for ages, though this was pre-wipe or whatever.

Diamond is just Platinum; it's still easy a fuck and meaningless to get into.
