SC2 Beta Coverage (Loki Shack)

...for lack of a more amusing name.
A few replays of some of my successes in 1v1 past Novice. Currently in Copper League.
Gameplay-wise I tend to play either Zerg or Terran, with Terran being my strongest thus far.
Asides from this, some of the stuff thus far in the beta (i.e. unit supply costs, techtree placements) could use some adjusting and switching around as well as some adjusting.
Thus far the game plays alright, save the lag that goes on occasionally with my current settings. In fact, lag aside, it plays much smoother and faster than Wc3. I'd definitely be looking forward to it regardless, mostly for the campaign and custom maps/campaigns/conversions.

New set of replays (new patch, mostly).
Still more of a Terran player, but I did try out Protoss. Needless to say, I really liked them.

Two new replays.
First one (on Scrap Station) the other guy kept rushing to kill my workers whilst I was busy chiseling away at the rocks for a quick route to his base. Got pretty ticked when he kept doing it. After looking this replay over, I made a mental note to get spine Crawlers near my workers so that they're not getting slaughtered.
Second one (Blistering Cocks) the other guy only made a push for my base once at the choke, but didn't seem to have gotten Void Rays or any air (at least he was bright enough to get Observers as you'll see in this replay when this happens). Got Mutalisks in addition to what I usually get as Zerg (lings, Hydras). Pulled the same chisel at his backdoor that works. Guy had Immortals and Colossi, but by the end it didn't even matter.
Right about now my heart is still beating fast from the game in the second replay.
Even though the multiplayer puts you against folks within the same league as you, it doesn't say what rank they are.

Another round of replays.
Not much to say, other than managing to come out barely unscathed in the 2v2 I played.
Big maps and being idle for too long. These are definitely my weakest points save for the Metaf***inopolis replay.

Finally relieved that I'm out of practice league (again).
Made use of Hellions and Marines in these games, save for the one against Alfinator in late game.

Right now I'm in Silver for 1v1. Tried 2v2 for a change from being whooped in 1v1 for either being idle for too long or not paying attention.
First 2v2, both opponents just left the game. Not going to bother posting it since it's only under 3 minutes (yep, under 3 minutes).
The replay here is from my second 2v2 since the account-reset thing with Patch 13. Surprisingly neither of the other two guys were hugely aggressive, which ended up biting them in the ass in the mid to late game as you'll likely note from my trolling the zerg player with Raven Auto-turrets and Viking fleet.
Gone Vinkings! And G'night.

Came across a problem whilst viewing that last replay I posted. The mini-map was just displaying as all blank: no terrain details, no player locations, no unit/building sight, no nothing.
Posted about it on the forums.

Well, the mini-map bug can be resolved by double-clicking the actual replay. This certainly helps, but then there's another problem.
Can't watch any replays from previous patches. Seriously, Blizzard. What the heck?

Just played a handful of games (about four) with Cliff. Just not going to post them.
Will be making the games we play public over the next few days, with both of us playing 2v2.

Another couple 1v1s. Got trashed in one, but managed to pull through in the second.
Needless to say, I just love Vikings and Bunkers (the latter saved my but in the second replay).

No replays to post atm, mostly cause the current patch causes SC2 to crash when trying to view replays from the current patch. I hadn't tried watching replays from any other patch yet.

Just a heads up update.
For some reason I was able to watch replays from patch 15 and patch 13 (hadn't tried ones from patch 14, but figured they'd work). But when I was scrolling through my list of replays for so long and about to consider watching another replay, the game crashes.

Finally, some new replays.
The second one happens to involve what I'd dub "the new cheese," which essentially involved Medivacs dropping off crowds of Marines. Needless to say, the other guy didn't like it.
