SC2Mapster.com got it first, through their cunning hijacking of FTP files, they were able to acquire the latest patch, holding the editor itself!

For those of you still skeptical, I can assure you, the following video is real and the editor will be here soon! The following video is provided by Sixen of SC2Mapster.com, who has dubbed the editor: GalaxyEdit.

nothing interesting so far... need to see actual menus and such before we get any idea of what's going on.

It's pretty much what I predicted it to be - a mix of NWN2 and wc3 in terms of terraining capacity. It's a lot to get used to but it's very powerful.

Wow.

They really did buff marauders.

And apparently increased the size of Mustaches spawned by Mustache Lords as well as their range.

Browder seriously has no idea what he's doing, or someone's sticking his penis between the design team and the patch data.

They nerfed destructable streetlights.

I wonder if they will be able to do a proper run from editor or maybe even run in editor this time.

There is a sandbox mode where the tested maps run.

Will we be seeing out famous campaigns converted to StarCraft 2 via the Legacy Converter?

Wha?

Anyway, skimming through the natives I don't see any way to stick a unit to another unit. This could be annoying.

I did, attempts to add another unit actor just superimposes another selectable model on top of the original unit (creating a single unit with 2 healthbars). There's physics harneses but I have absolutely no idea how to use them or even what they do.

Really, that thing converts SC to SC2?  Interesting.

It's a total mess, that converter. It makes a heightmap, not actual cliffs - you need to rebuild the map regardless.

I'm surprised they even bothered with this Legacy Converter.  I know the idea has popped up a couple times, but I've usually been one of the first in line to shoot it down.  The trigger system for SC1 is hopelessly outdated compared to what SC2 should have and terrain wouldn't convert well at all.  I suppose it's a decent start for a converted campaign, but what made for a great SC1 campaign might not necessarily work well for an SC2 campaign.  Still, sounds interesting.
