I haven't had time to play it.  My account has been inactive for a couple of months now.

I'll reply with a quote from one of Chris Rocks bits:

"You know the worst thing about n----s? N----s always want some credit for some shit they supposed to do. For some shit they just supposed to do: A n---a will brag about some shit a normal man just does. A n---a will say some shit like, 'I take care of my kids.'

You're supposed to, you dumb mothafucka. What are you talkin' about? What are you braggin' about? What kind of ignorant shit is that?

'I ain't never been to jail.'
What do you want, a cookie?
You're not supposed to go to jail you low expectation having mothafucka."

Haha, I recall the one and only incident I let it take over my life- My girlfriend at the time wanted me to pick her up. I said I was in an instance with my cousin, give me like an hour, haha. Classic.

I never played WoW until a few weeks ago. I figured it was finally time to see what all the fuss is about. So I started with that 10 day trial.

I've gotta say, it was really boring. Just watching my character run around. I probably played it for less than 2 hours before I uninstalled everything.

Now I've had previous MMO experience with City of Heroes, but WoW was just dull. Run around, fight slow/dull battle, loot bodies, run around some more, try not to fall asleep. After 10 minutes of playing I was wondering where the auto run button was. Blech.

So I don't know how it takes over people. "Sorry I'm busy staring at my character's back."

City of Heroes is even more boring in my opinion, haha.

Each to his own.
One of the big things that drew me to CoH is that when I started I was coming of a long Diablo 2 period. Diablo 2 is so item dependent. You're always looking for better equipment. CoH has no equipment to bog you down, you just go. You don't loot bodies, you don't shop, you don't compete for treasure, you just do your stuff. It does wonders for game flow.

Diablo 2 is all about botting for runewords. Without runewords, you can't do ANYTHING in pvp. I played since classic release until into 1.10. Runewords DESTROYED that game.

I'd say now is about the worst time you can get into WoW, as the design team somehow systematically took what was good about WoW and turned it into crap. Hell, in order to alleviate my disgust with the Lv.70 scene (of which I have only ONE character at that level, mind) I started a new character of every class, and whenever I got to the magic Level 60 I would abandon that character and focus on another one. Do you know why that is? Everything starting from Lv.10 to Outland (theoretically Lv.60) was what made WoW good. Everything after that was just bad.

Edit: no, let me rephrase the Lv.10 thing. Being under Lv.10 sucked if you didn't have the expansion. If there's one thing Burning Crusade did right, it made a really good Horde starting zone, as in one that totally kicked the ass of the original four starting zones and I managed to make 3 Blood Elves through the dump and cheese leveled them like mad because the Blood Elf zones dole out experience points like crazy.

Assuming I won't get to level 60+ during a 10 day trail, wouldn't that make now the best time to start playing WoW?

I will admit though, that I did not reach level 10 (but I did pick the horde). I probably would have played more had I actually purchased the game. Perhaps Blizzard should rethink their 10 day trial if the low levels blow like you say they do.
