new campaigns

now that SC 2 has been announced, are people going to continue making reular SC mods and campaigns? I mean, I know I't'll probably come out in almost over a year (probably) but, that does pretty much render the 'old' stuff obsolete right?  Oo! I have an idea! a full conversion of the SC storyline and 'old' units to SC 2's engine! eh? eeehhhh??  ;)

No offense, but I think everyone and their mom had that idea pass through them, haha.

StarCraft is it's own engine, and I doubt it'll die after StarCraft II.

Heck, the announcement just makes me want to do a mod more.

Yea, I've had a campaign sitting around for a few years. I don't see the point of actually finishing it now, since it would work a lot better in the starcraft 2 engine.

That's my logic. I was working on a sequel to HK but when SC2 was announced, I thought "Hey, I can do all the crit and proc stuff without worrying about huge iscripts, not to mention I can do the warships a lot more accurately".

Yeah the announcement has gotten me tinkering around with campaign ideas.

I'm already working on models and stuff for when the game is released, gonna make a mod! They gave me all the info i need. Zealot is 1500 polies. You can pretty much go from there. Although, knowing how many polies a ling was would kick ass.

I can model but I doubt SC2 can handle 5 million polies per unit.

Seriously, that on a normal/displacement/bump map would probably notch off.. 4.99 million polies.
