Are you ready to put yourself through the grandest, the hardest, and the most dangerous challenge you have ever faced? If not, too bad! We'll grind you up like ground beef! Hahahahaaa... But if you can survive this monstrosity of gluttonous conflict, you will have the superb, distinguished honor of being proclaimed THE GRAND CHAMPION OF THE BATTLE ARENA!ARE YOU READY TO TEST YOUR METTLE? HOW TO PLAY
Battle Arena is a forum-based game of dice-based combat. Using Build Points (BP), you construct a Battlesuit for yourself to fight with, complete with Hit Points (HP) and weaponry. When complete, you get thrown into a free-for-all conflict in the Arena. Attacks are based on a two six-sided dice system (see CONSTRUCTING YOUR BATTLESUIT), and any damage incurred is subtracted from your HP. When your total HP reaches zero or lower, you're dead and eliminated from the quest to become the Grand Champion. The winner, obviously, is the last man standing.CONSTRUCTING YOUR BATTLESUIT
For the purpose of building your battlesuit, you are assigned a total of 80 BP. You can you use BP to either buy HP (1 HP = 1 BP) or buy weapons to arm your battlesuit (the amount of BP needed depends on the weapon). You can even give your battlesuit a name to be used in the Battle Arena. When it's done, it will be listed alongside the other victims- erm, contestants in the Combatants Post.Weapons work based on a two six-sided dice system, in which a weapon is assigned a number or set of numbers called the Damage Range (DR). Whenever a dice roll results in a number being rolled that is equal to the weapon's DR, the weapon fires and does the damage specified. This process is repeated with every weapon a battlesuit is armed with. You can also assign priority to a weapon during creation, so that certain weapons fire before others.
EXAMPLE:: Battlesuit 1 attacks Battlesuit 2. Battlesuit 1 is armed with a Flamethrower (DR 3-11, Priority 1) and a Slug Cannon (DR 6-8, Priority 2). The first dice roll for Battlesuit 1 is a 5. That number is equal to a number between 3 and 11, so the Flamethrower does 1 Damage to Battlesuit 2 (See WEAPONS for statistics). The second dice roll for Battlesuit 1 is a 10. That number is not between 6 and 8, so the Slug Cannon misses Battlesuit 2 and consequently does no damage.
COMBAT
Combat happens through PMs and dice rolls. Players will submit a PM to the gamemaster (me) designating who they want to attack. As soon as I receive a PM, I roll a pair of two-sided dice to see how the attack turns out, and then I post the result on the thread.NOTE: IF I HAVE A BUNCH OF PMs AND ONE OF THEM KILLS A TARGET, THE TARGET STILL GETS TO COMPLETE HIS/HER ACTION BEFORE DYING.
