Yours? Joel got that exact computer recently - this week I believe, 12gb ram, i7 CPU.
If its yours, grats for finally getting a new computer. I know you've been looking forward to getting one for a while.

Yeah, what Desler said- Joel had just informed me he got his ultra-super computer, hah. Which happens to be the same thing.

Really? Joel must have good taste, then. These parts were hand-picked. Costed around 1600 total. They go with the PSU and 4970x2 I bought a while ago.
Haven't had much of a chance to really try it out yet. Gonna try supreme commander, the only game that could hit my last computer real good. I tried Prototype and the sound finally works. Solid 60 fps (the cap) with everything jacked up at 1920x1200, last computer hovered around 20-30 with stutters. Then I frapsed it. Sat at Fraps' FPS cap like it's supposed to with no problems, recording 1920x1200. Last computer sat around 15 with major stutters at times.
Encoding 1920x1200 at 3k bitrate h264 in megui with super quality settings was going at about 30fps. Last machine was like, 6-13 at the very best.
And I haven't even gotten to overclocking it yet. I got some shiny hardware with the specific intention of overclocking.
Also I fucking HATE windows media player. I can't get winamp to take file associations of music over it.

Supreme commander doesn't work.
Took a bit of work but got Max to work.
My battlecruiser scene just crashes max over and over but after I killed all of the geometry and just left the afterburn stuff in it, it renders in about 5 seconds compared to a few minutes or however long it'd take before (around 10 minutes usually). Also tried a Dreadnaught scene, took about 10 seconds compared to 2 minutes.

Dude, let it go. He probably bought the wrong RAM type or didn't clip it properly or something like that.
