New Up and Coming Anime - Eden of the East

There are 5 episodes so far, 6 if you count the one that comes out today.  Eden of the East.  I highly recommend that you DO NOT read what its about and instead just download it and start watching it.  The series has a whole 'mystery' quality to it, so reading anything might contain spoilers which would ruin many of the details you eventually learn.  Very high quality animation, seems like they always invest in better animation for the series they know that are going to do well (Death Note, Cowboy Bebop).  It's an intriguing series, and one which I think will be a big one that everyone sees once word about it spreads.

I highly recommend seeing it.

Some kind of summary of what it is would be nice. Eden of the East instantly gives me a religious presumption and I am not one to care about religion. But it could be something entirely unrelated, which may interest me or may not.

So, what is it?

Giant robots?
Tentacles?
Goats on rollercoasters?

Just give an idea of what the setting is.

I also heard it was good, can't remember where. Maybe I'll check it out.

None of that stuff.  It's not about religion either.  Just watch it, you'll like it!  If you liked either Cowboy Bebop or Death Note, you'll like this one.

What if I liked Death Note but hated Cowboy Bebop?

I actually started watching this one soon after the first episode came out, even though I had no clue what it was.  I just tried it out of whimsy, but it paid off.  This is a promising anime.

It's much closer to Death Note.  Isn't the reason you hate Cowboy Bebop because of its stand-alone-episodic nature, anyway?  That's definitely not the case with this show.  It's an on-going plot and mystery!

Is this by any chance based off the novel East of Eden?

I only watched a bit of death note and never saw cowboy bebop. So, I might download this later and have a look.

I never read that but without a doubt it isn't based on it.  This is a story set in 2011.
