Last I checked, Blizzard bosses went berserk and killed everyone after 10 minutes or so. Trash mobs are retarded, though.

You would think an 18 hour boss would kill the desire out of anyone to ever touch an MMORPG ever again. Perhaps Pandemonium Warden is the cure we've been looking for!

It'd be awesome if it was an EPIC warfare. I'd sit through 18 hours. But alas, the graphics don't make me want to watch repetitive animations for 18 hours.

I think it's a Final Fantasy thing. Like in FFVII when you said you could beat the weapons. There's no point to beating them. If you can beat them you can easily beat Sephiroth. But it was just for the challenge, or for bragging rights.

the boss monster "Pandemonium Warden" remained perfectly fit after a group of high-level adventurers wailed away at it nonstop for over 18 hours straight.
maybe they're just doing it wrong?

Isn't Illidan like a 20 minute fight? In my opinion 20 minutes is to long for me, seriously after 10 minutes it kind of gets old. I can't imagine spending over an hour on one boss. 18 is just not worth it.

20 minutes isn't that bad for a legendary hero. I like how Blizzard has taken a very concise approach to boss battles. As Tipereth mentioned, many bosses go beserk and kill the raid party if the group isn't able to take down the boss after 10-15 minutes or so.
And Blizzard is getting better at this, Spiderking. They are making raids more inclusive, by allowing players to kill Arthas with just 10 players. They said the difficulty will be just as intense as a 40-man or 25-man, but you won't need dozens of professional gamers to help you defeat the boss. For more epic and legendary gear, Arthas can be defeated with 25 men. It's a very cool approach. Blizzard is defining the future of MMORPGs for the next decade to come.
FFXI obviously failed with this 18-hour boss.

25 mans caused so many problems in the PvE scene that it's fucking ridiculous, expecting Blizzard not to fuck up the raiding even more with 10 mans is like expecting me to not call you a faggot at the end of this post.

Actually the only problem 25 mans causes was for older raiding guilds. They were used to a 40 man raiding group so a lot of people got jipped. Now that we have both versions small/casual/family guilds are free to do such content, but raiders can still do 25 man content they are doing now. Really the only thing that bothers me is TBC raiding doesn't have the epic feeling MC/BWL had back in the day. Also, TBC killed my raiding guild so I really haven't seen much beyond Kara.
