Could anyone direct me to a good voice changer which will add effects like they have in Starcraft?
For example:
Terrans sound like theyre on the radio
Zerg, the overmind sounds like he has a very bad throat
Protoss, they have that echoe godlike sound.. hard to describe.
But pointing me to some effects like that would be MUCH appreciated
- Thanks

The echo of protoss is a reverse, reverb, reverse. Quite simple. Do stuff like that in Goldwave or Adobe Audition. I personally use Audition but it happens to cost money.

Thanks, and do you know how to make Zerg sound? I dont think Terran will be that hard to find since its just a radio sound really.

Flange effects.
Also, CC's server is utterly crippled this morning.

I mean the kind of Zerg voice effect that the overmind has, like the sore throat

But has anyone heard of the forgotten world campaign? One of the maps is called "Nydus Island" I think guy that does all the voices has a really good effect for the Zerg overmind, could anyone tell me how to get that?
I am making a campaign and would like this effect

(This campaign is explained in another topic)

It's all flanges and talent. You have to attempt to mimic the voice as much as possible and then use slight pitch shifts and flanges to get the final result.
Ugh, if I knew how to work Joomla better I'd pinpoint you to tutorials for flanges from SAVAGE, but that's not possible at the moment. I'm still trying to find a simple way to work that damn CMS.
But none-the-less, effects in voices are all the masterful work of flanges.
Here, these can start you off on something else. Mix these with audio, and you have a few preset background noises. These are primarily for Terran and Protoss though, since Zerg generally have no background noise.

Wow, I have to say this, Thankyou SO much. This is just what I have been looking for. If I can get the Zerg right with the flange effects I have everything I need for voices. Thanks ALOT!

Sorry if this sounds unnapreciative, do you have sounds for the background of a Terran Firebat?

For firebat, just use some fire noises. Like fire going back and forth. Mix it in with the firebat and make the firenoise quieter then the actual voice.

Yeah, soundforge works, but it's a lot more of a pain in the ass to use than audition or goldwave.

I downloaded goldwave and tried uping the bass and using flange effects but Im not getting a Zergy sound. Can anyone tell me exactly how to get it using audacity or goldwave?

For Zerg you tend to make them more water-like with an extremely quick echo. It'd be easier to explain for Audition. I don't recall Goldwave much anymore.
