Blizzard clearly cheated on their splash page.

Speaking of which, I never got to see the last splash screen(s), anyone have it?

lol!  What was the whole point of the Ice?  Hell Froze Over?

I had a feeling it was Diablo III when I went to bed last night.  It just all started to click together.  I woke up early this morning just to see the announcement.  Cool set-up but I agree with RCX they cheated on their splash page :P

I've never been a Diablo fan.  The point-click with the mouse was difficult to play the game beyond my cousin's house.  I have played RPG's similar to this style like Balder's Gate.  It's fun but it does get repetitive.

When I saw the new webpage, I'm actually interested in playing it.  It looks fun and I'd probably enjoy playing it multiple times.  Blizzard has always made top-notch games.  That's why we've been life-long fans.  Despite its perceived shortcomings, it looks like an enjoyable experience.  The graphics make the game playable, even if it's not the best stuff.

It looks like something bad happens to Tyrael.  What do you think?  Will we see the death of him?

Spider Lady concept art looks groovy.

I wonder how the lore is going to bring back Diablo if he was destroyed in part II.  I'm assuming they are using the destruction of the Worldstone as an opening to his ressurection and that the meteor brings back Hell's armies somehow.

Oh, bringing Diablo back is the easy part.  You see, the ancient [insert runestone name here] was once prophesized to return in the book of [insert book name here] after being lost for [insert large number here] years.  That runestone holds the essence of Diablo.  A young man by the name of [insert name here] found the runestone and activated it, thereby destroying him and his entire city of [insert city name here].  Only the [insert artifact name here] can seal Diablo again into the pits of [insert a metaphor for 'Hell' here].

There, that was easy.  If I see another story where another ancient stone has the powers to destroy civilization and life as we know it, I will scream!

StarCraft:  Brood War
Artanis:  "The Zerg are attacking Shakuras."
Zeratul:  "Don't worry old friend, this rock I found will do the trick.  I will just put it in the magic device that solves any problem."
*zerg destroyed*
Artanis:  "Cool, lets go smoke one."
Zeratul:  "Agreed."

StarCraft II:
Zeratul:  "Raynor old friend, I need your help.  The magic rock is missing."
Raynor:  "The magic rock that does anything?"
Zeratul:  "Yes, and unless we find it, all of civilization will be destroyed."
Raynor:  "Right, very bad.  Ok, lets go."

You don't destroy him in Diablo II-- you destroy the Soulstone he was using to rampage on the mortal world (Sanctuary). Destroying the Soulstone sent him and Mephisto and Baal back to Hell, although the Worldstone's destruction will no longer keep Heaven and Hell from interfering with Sanctuary.

In essence, Diablo still won.

An interesting screenshot. I'm sure a lot of you will have deja vu, as this topic was discussed months ago in SC2 discussion boards.

I actually think the first half is better.  The second half is too dark, too gritty, too evil, too..  oh.

The warcraft art style does not fit diablo in the slightest, and nor does it fit Starcraft. Blizzard needs to seriously rethink how they're designing their art teams because this is getting stupid. Every game is looking extremely similar.

That's just Blizzard's style. Unfortunately they developed it through two Warcraft games.
