Yeah they are expensive but they are also stylish. I own a Apple iPod and an Apple Cinema 30" display. I do not however own an iPhone because I hate the idea of tapping something to get it to work. I'm a big fan of Star Trek but even I find tapping displays pointless when actual keys work much better.

They're also built to be phased out, and to ring as much money out of you as possible. Battery dies on your iPod? Be prepared to pay Apple $100 to get a new one, every 2 years.

I'll admit, if I buy another mp3 player, it won't be an iPod. Mainly because after using their software its all too apparent that it is super crappy. I prefer my older mp3 players that were easily plugged into my computer. I lost a hard drive in February - along with it many of my mp3s. Imagine my disappointment when I couldn't even copy them off my iPod to a new hard drive. Meh.

You can do it, but its a bit complicated and the names wont show up properly outside of the ipod/itunes, go to my computer, open the ipod look for a "music" folder or someshit, there should be all your files in various 4 letter names i have no idea why or how it categorizes them and dont care, any way copy all of them (PROTIP they are in subfolders) and open itunes and do add folder to library.

If I buy another MP3 player, im going to mke sure it uses standard batteries AA/AAA or something, because this recharging thing is BS.

Right from the start when I got it I knew iPod was going to be crap but I was all cashed up and was excited about getting an MP3 player and couldn't be fucked shopping around for other models that were good

It suits my purposes fine - now using 3rd-party firmware so I can just drag & drop MP3s in Windows Explorer (and it has cuesheet support

) but having an internal battery is the annoying bit - sure it's gonna die for good sooner or later, and that will be annoying when that happens, but that could be a long while off but what I hate is I can't bring spares with me for if it goes flat while I'm out
