It's difficult to explain. But trust me, it's definitely not something you should look down upon people for while you still can't understand why it happens =P

o.o the only nontirivial part of building a computer is putting on thermal grease, which is pretty easy as well. Also, with Socket 775 boards, sometimes fitting the fan on was painful.

Re: Quick roll call
My first experience with computer hardware was putting ram into a 100 mhz cyrix II, into ram slots hidden under a PSU in a case barely larger than an imac. It was horrible.
The biggest rule about computers is keep yourself grounded ie touch the case. Don't wear baggy pants/shirt and rub against carpet. Don't let cats/dogs near it. As long as you stay static free it's hard to damage it if you're careful. CPU's can be a bit of a bitch but new slots and such are much better than the goddamn athlon xp's that I had to use screw drivers over the course of 15 minutes to get the heatsinks off/on.

That's totally not what I meant but much BUY->DONE in case magical unicorns appear and delay me from doing anything productive.

Re: Quick roll call
Hey I remember a realllly long time ago Desler posted a link to an archived version of CC from the old template or whatever, good stuff from like 2002. I wonder if this is still saved somewhere? I remember being able to look through old forums and stuff it was so epic... Wasn't CC hacked or something and lots of stuff was lost some year?
also I remember when starcraft.org and infocepter.net started up... If I remember correctly some people here did work for those two sites as well.
and another oldschool dude I remember (forgot his screen name) he used to do alot of stuff, including a star wars mod if I remember correctly and he always had a Star Wars avatar of Wedge Antilles. that dude was awesome. His screen name was something Antilles or something... argh I wish I could remember it was from like 10 years ago loool.
