No, you didn't. I gave you refs and a description and you did nothing. What the hell else do you need?

I asked specifically for at least front and side sketches, haha, I didn't even get that.

You got more than enough, and all that is available.
Tooting your horn repeatedly then backing out when actually given something to do is something I'd expect out of people from wc3campaigns, not here.

I have no received files from you related to sketches.. I recall you telling me you can't draw even if you're life was at stake. Send me sketches, and I'll show you something, haha.

Considering I posted them in I believe this very thread and linked you to it/harassed on vent several times, I'm going to have to change my comment to extremely irresponsible.
But, for the sake of getting something done, I'll repost them here. Don't forget, yes?
I have been looking for ortho references but I do not believe they exist. These should be sufficient.
edit - Added one I forgot. GG?
edit II - Also note I have tons and tons of references/sketches on my private forum which you have access to. If you really want to prove yourself, you could head over there and see what you could get done, especially in the Confederate and Pants sections.

Phfff let's get back to Starcraft and not the daily Lavv vs Doack.
So, I did read they are not far with zerg at all, so that means we are probably further from a release then we thought. If they had zerg as far as terran... but noooo.

Well, they hinted at some of zerg being done, but they are by far the most incomplete for sure.
I don't think the Zerg will take too long, though. The most incomplete part of the game was the singleplayer, according to Blizzard, but at least they have direction and some bit of work going on there, and they are getting voice talent ect together, so that is definitely moving pretty fast. If I were to guess, I'd say..
Protoss are 90% complete. You may see some changes, but not a lot.
Terran are 60% complete. There is some potential for major change, especially since the Cobra doesn't fit in at all and we don't know much about their polish or state of balance.
Zerg are like, 10% complete. We know almost nothing other then that there is some things Blizzard hasn't shown about them. I imagine they will progress quickly because Blizzard said they are going to be focusing on zerg next week and beyond and once they get an idea of where they want to go conceptually, they should be done pretty fast.
But the singleplayer is what will take a really long time. CGI, voice acting, balancing, playtesting, ect. will take forever.
I expect a late 2008 release. I heard a rumor from korea that a Blizzard dude had estimated "2008 october", but I don't know how reliable that is.
Gameplay-wise, it'll be done long before the campaigns are done, like they said they had been aiming for. Alpha will probably come up when Zerg are done. Then they'll polish the graphics and sounds further, the campaign will move along, and we should enter beta around spring or early summer 2008.

I'm going to have to agree with Isk on this one, your timeline seems reasonable. However, CGI takes a lot, yes, but cinematics department is handling that, naturally, and apparently the models and animation for inside the Hyperion as well.
I'll work on your model during my spare time, should be able to, however I'll work on it in Maya, exporting will be no issue.

Maya is fine. All of my models so far were done in maya.
Try not to make it enormous poly. It is going to be a battleship-class, so I'd say 20-30k is pretty much enough.
edit - It should be pretty detailed, though; fairly accurate to the references. It is going to be BIG ingame. Like, 8x the size of the battlecruiser.

lol, if the zerg units aren't fixed up at all then I guess they won't have made huge progress on any campaign maps including zerg forces at all...

hehe pretty sure at one point you gave up and told me not to bother with it
Although the funny thing is that since then the wonder that is DatEdit has been made which would make editing 10x faster for me, so I could probably actually get it done if I had to...

Haven't transformers always been possible, even in SC? (for instance, the siege tank transforms). I recall seeing some gundam GRP or something that had an alt mode (never used it, don't know if it actually transformed).
That was just a siege tank with different GRPs, but actually adding transformations wasn't possible as far as I know.

I had always hoped that it would be possible if you used the right iscript animations (and had turrets if that's required to satisfy it) and had the right button settings in StarGraft/MemGraft/FireGraft but never actually tested it out; but using FireGraft seems to show that there are certain things to do with SC's sieging that are hard-coded

Actually, the siege tank DOES transform and switch units, but it's all hardcoded, so look elsewhere for unit changing in SC1. You have a hard time just dicking with the animation sequences because it's extremely sensitive to waits, and crashes 90% of the time.

Couldn't you just use the creep/hatchery stuff? have it upgrade for free into another unit, and the ability to upgrade back.
I never got into the kind of stuff mesk did in SC nodding, unless that shit was hardcoded...

Maybe. Those were structures, though. With units, it could do some weird shit, especially with collisions. Never really tried, but I heard muta morphing was pretty screwy, too.
