Exactly what he means.Hunter_Killers wrote: SC2 will end up being something most of them do when they aren't playing WoW and not replacing it and yes he is comparing an MMO to an RTS with that statement because they both have nothing to do with eachother beside coming from the same company.
hahaha, ranks don't mean anything anymore. It used to represent the amount of time you spent in PvP and the amount of honor you gain. WSG, AB, EotS, and AV are PvP battlegrounds, yes, but it's only one aspect of it. They each have their own objectives to complete in order to win. But if you want to get to the heart of it, PvP is just that: Player versus Player. No objectives to complete, no flags to run, no points to capture, no NPC's to assasinate. Arena is PvP. Player versus Player. Your team versus their team with some random terrain features in the way. I fail to see the point you're trying to illustrate by saying Arena is a closed box. Because that's exactly what it is. I'd love to try and understand though.Half the people on my server that were PvPing made grand marshal in 2 months nothing special coming out of him, obviously he hasn't played enough to see what PvP was like outside of his closed in box called arenas.
And RCX, yeah, you're right. It takes a lot of dedication to even think of competing in any kind of game. With WoW hitting 'mainstream' alongside counterstrike, DotA, GW, etc, there are people out there who could possibly make a living just by playing games.
