Yeah!
Jim_Raynor, do you HAVE TO comment on each and every post you come across? I'm just asking, because it's all I see you do here and it's annoying.

Indeed, a subtle request to Jim_Raynor: Make more productive posting, please.
Moving on.

No. No, they weren't. There's plenty of arcane magic which is... just as easy. My point is that cool stories generally have these 'weak' elements and that's no sin. They don't have to be accurate or possible or even likely. Starcraft is one buttload of brainfarts and macguffins, and so is Warcraft, but I think that's partly due to the fact that staying true to reality/realism makes things boring.
Hence... muted space movies because there's no sound in space would be extremely boring.

Well, a Fenix avatar in dragoon form. Is that bad? I apologize if it offends you.

And rainbows have pots of gold at the end of them! So that's good, right?

Of course there's sound in space. It's just really slow and low pitched due to the low density of interstellar gas.

Technically, there is no sound in that video except for the music which you assume isn't being played in space anyway.
Oh, I heard a battlecruiser rumble.

Actually, there IS sound in space. However, quality space sound recorders are too expensive AND/OR they don't exist at this point...
Only a guess... :p

Oh, I heard a battlecruiser rumble.
Sound is only transmitted via particle collision.
However, thermal radiation, gravity disturbances, and even particle emissions could rattle the internal structure of our camera, resulting in sound! =oD
You'd also hear the sounds of your ship when in its cockpit, so who's to say there aren't studio micophone packs on the backs of all those pilots, so the audience can hear the sum of all the ships' sounds?

Those better be stage mics or you are gonna have background noise clipping all over the place!
