The last time I was profoundly touched I'm pretty sure it was illegal.

Watching AWP #30.
To be honest, if you look in a specific way nothing can be considered "art". Calling something art is basically a human expression that you are profoundly touched by a piece of work, and you are in deep admiration for that piece of work. At least this is the modern definition.
For a medium like games to create "art", it requires that the creators are willing to express themselves with it. Painters, writers, and musicians in the middle ages who have created "arts" are mostly nameless, godless people who have no recognition in their age for their talents, but they still attend to making their "arts" simply because they want to express their own emotions. It is this lust for creation that drive people to put effort in their work.
This post is bad and you should feel bad.
Calling historical artists nameless, godless people is really dumb considering the majority of art prior to modern times was associated with religion. Furthermore artists today and in the past have probably the same recognition by the general public, ie by people in the art industry and very few who cross over into the mainstream via famous works. In fact most of the famous artists we talk about today were probably more well known publicly than modern artists due to the fact that art at that time was very much something you did if you were rich as fuck.
Expression being the thing that determines art is very arbitrary, again because many pieces of famous art such as buildings or paintings were commissioned by government or the church or made by slaves. Sure some of those pieces of art were expression, but other things they were paid for and that doesn't make it any less art. Is someone urinating on expired spaghettios while fingering herself and reciting emo poetry art because she's expressing herself? No, it's narcissistic masturbation. Is Gone Home art because it tells a so deep story? No because it doesn't make use of any of the things that make a game a game, it's Myst with all of the things that made Myst good removed.

So much partnership bot spam in my youtube acc. I really wish this kind of shit was illegal.
My infections are clearing up but I am just getting sick elsewhere and the antibiotics definitely did something weird. I tried to play Rondo but I had a very, very hard time focusing and just got anally plastered.

Some (not all) antibiotics kill the good bacteria in your shit processing facilities, you need to eat fermented milk products to recover that. It's a pretty big deal actually, I learned it the hard way.

Depends on artists I believe. Don't know whether or not because I'm Vietnamese and most Vietnamese artists I know dies due to starvation in their 30s, but I'm just under the impression (and the general impression of most Asians) that artists don't make alot of money. Then again, I'm clueless about Western world.

Probably it's because of my terrible use of English but I never meant that "expression determines art", I'm just saying that for games to be art the people that make it must commit more to expressing themselves rather than lol money. Because as you said, just because someone have depression and spent the next 5 years making the most depressing shit in the world does not make art, it make the opposite of art. But hey, said someone at least tried, and if many more people actually put an effort like him maybe through natural selection we can find "art".
About the money, it's not monetary gains that really prohibits art, it's just that in the current day most Western "business model" prohibits all form of creativity. It's just all about R&D and PR to create a product that would sells, and it is way too effective. This is why people has to think less about the money and more about expression, because this is the only way for them to regard their creation more than just a product. All of the things I said in my earlier post was only meant to reflect the modern day.

The last time I used antibiotics, I have to get an enema to cleanse my bladder, I learned that the anal penetration way.
On a side note, fermented milk products (aka yogurt) can for some person have some adverse effect on your stomach if you do not eat them regularly, or started eating recently. Most of the time my tummy acts up because I stopped eating yogurt or I started eating them again after a long time. So for some person yogurt might be something like a strong laxative, given that Mesk's internal organs are quite squishy and sensitive to the touch... Please use with care.

I am slowly recovering. It's just the eye twitching and the seriously fucked up sleep schedule that's really keeping me down right now. Hoping to be back on track soon.

I now have a cold. Great. Just great. Thanks, guys.
Whelp, I'm still finding ways to busy myself. I cleaned up the deprecated 2042 threads as I said I would a time ago, updated the Ret thread a bit. I might houseclean a bit more elsewhere. Those of you keen of eye may notice that every now and then I make little changes to the LP thread and the OP of this thread. If you have any specific requests for these threads in terms of organization, let me know. Just know that I am really not competent when it comes to the whole internet thing.
There's no way I am getting anywhere in Rondo feeling like I am and going through all the shit I am going through, so I might hold it off for now. Maybe I'll do SoTN or something. Or I might try that potentially terrible Golden Axe game. Only time will tell.
Started UDK work in Retribution and the project is going dark, now. No one has answered the call to answer any UDK questions, I guess because no one knows it. So far even the most simple inquiry I could make has gone unanswered on the official forum. Time to strap up and get bareback. This is going to be one American of a trip down the gutter.
As a note, I'll probably make annual videos that discuss the year in terms of LP's and stuff. This could be seen as a substitute for coffee hour. Chances are that Retribution stuff will also be covered.

Ah, this may not be a cold. It may be something much worse. Woohoo!

Hopefully not meningitis? Flu is survivable, just stay clean of vaccines - it's just a scam (at least when it comes to flu).
Anyway, I finished watching DMC4 and KZ3. Took me some time to finish the latter mostly due to being busy with a lot of other stuff. So here's my opinion piece.
DMC4. Having played that game myself a couple of times (difficulty-wise) I agree a lot with your opinion on it, especially regarding retardedness that is monster handicap. It's really sad that only major interesting fight in the game (Dante) fits the parameters just by sheer luck. If it is input reading that brings it forward - it makes things that much more overrated in the end. Devil Bringer is entirely unnecessary, yet Dante's inability to deal with it is both understandable (lack of experience encountering it) and not really (he supposed to be a one-man-army and then some, no excuse for weakness, especially considering a wonderful ability to mixup by changing styles). They could have made this fight the best in the genre for years to come with as we can see all Dante's gameplay has to offer. But - oh, well. Except for some minor derpage I really liked the cast. I have a feeling that depending on your general disposition to the game and I dunno - respect maybe - you employ a different approach to casting it. Even though generally your casting succeeds in keeping me interested (so far only thing I couldn't bear was Supreme Casual - due to the game being so unbearable that nothing can recover in from the depths of the office. And that's saying something cause I sat through Conan to the very end no problem, without even skipping anything), I can still distinguish when you are yourself making things happens more because you want to rather than because you think you have to. On that note I would like to say - play better games (as if there was a sure way to tell other than personally experiencing them to check), I feel that when you do better quality games - overall production clicks that much better. But back to the DMC4. You mentioned in the review that once you were told that this series can break you, but thinking back at those days (like after gow1) when this first came up like this - I was quite sure that DMC wouldn't be able to do so. Mainly because I'm probably a worse player than you and yet I managed both DMC3 and 4 on the keyboard. I find that games which can really test one's anus are the 2D platformers (older castlevania titles are sorta able to prepare for that I guess if you're going to touch them - and with very nice music at times btw). And even I grazed my incompetent self through notorious I Wanna Be The Guy and latter Super Meat Boy (And I know if I want to kill myself there is also I Wanna Be The Boshy). And from that experience i can tell - if these games cannot break a person - nothing in the gameworld can. So if you really want to get annoyed, pissed off and enraged to the boiling point - try them apples. Pixel-perfect things in R-Type 3 don't come close to that. Overall DMC4 - I enjoyed the production, casting more than the gameplay. Review was also on point.
KZ3. Now this is hurr-definition game as you like to say. Slapped together and named the way it is just for the sake of milking the franchise (like so many darn games these days - good things come in trilogies my ass). I cannot even express how retarded the entire game felt to me watching it. It doesn't even makes for a worthwhile death montage. There are virtually no redeeming qualities this game has to offer. it has in it pretty much every single terrible feature of a first person shooter (genre name I really hate cause I still remember times when games weren't just shooters but were called action games) I can think of. The only character that has any character is Stahl but for the most part he's completely cut off of the action. It's like Souls games - almost nobody cared to do anything at all, let alone - respectable quality. When I see things like that I realize yet again that I made the right choice not buying consoles for myself. But anyway you summed up things in the review in your unusually forgiving manner (which I admire, cause I myself tend to overlook a spoon of honey in a barrel of tar). Overall production was as I expected it to be since you've mentioned the game coming out of first playthrough. I sat through it to the end almost without skipping (very late fighter sequences in space were just beyond me to watch). Overall my feel for the game is that it lacks anything that can be called 'consistent' or 'having integrity' which could mend the games into a series. So far it's more like random games called similarly with no real tangible and interesting for the player connection between them. And there is no recovery for that - I don't think - nothing they can do can append the 4th game to previous 3 - and maybe that is for the best. But I'm glad you got this out of the way. I got a fair share of enjoyment watching you fail. It's only a a hope that one day I'll observe your success with no less enjoyment. As we say here in Russia - hope dies the very last of all. But then again we also say - while you have even one turn left - you haven't lost.

I am really really sick now. It's either a really nasty cold or pneumonia. Uncontrollable chill-like seizures and migraines are a recipe for being unable to sleep at all anymore. Oh, and it excited both my ear infections back. My grandmother ended up in the hospital yesterday (I contracted it from her) since it was blocking her airways, so I'm in for a really fun week+.
As far as hard games are concerned, I'm eventually aiming to be able to do stuff like holy diver and a lot of Japanese arcade shmups and such. I'll definitely have to work my way up to them, though.
Those KZ3 fighter segments were absolutely retarded. The video may not portray it very well but it requires absolutely perfect execution and pure luck to get past them.
I was sick and delirious when I attempted Rondo of Blood and I probably died 7-10+ times on the werewolf and quite a bit before then if it's any indicator. The movement definitely takes a lot of getting used to and that boss was surprisingly more difficult than most of the 3d ARPG bosses I'd encountered yet. However by then I was sick enough that I actually couldn't focus enough to see the crows or some other enemies before they ran right into me.
/e
Extremely troubling concern over my grandmother possibly having lung cancer... I kind of doubt it considering we are both sick and it's clearly some kind of bacteria/virus, but the hospital is having her check in with her doctor this friday. I don't know the full story, but the implications are clear if it turns out to be a worst case scenario. This would simply be the end of the line.

hey uh, I have a proposition
Would you ever want to try duo casting the BW videos again? I think, given how much time has passed, that we'll remember so little of what we said during the replays that it would be like experiencing them again for the first time. Of course, it will be at least a month or so before I would be available for this. And I would need to get a mic from somewhere. But I would totally be up to doing it.

I could use OBS to record it and avoid the innumerable complications that camtasia's files gave me (and never have to sync anything). It's certainly doable. I'm just too sick to do any kind of casting right now. I'd be willing to give it a go when I am feeling better.
/edit
The probably of this shit being pneumonia is very high as the hospital called back after reviewing her x-rays. They said it is probably in early stages. Mine is in earlier stages, but the coughing/dry heaving combo is ripping my scrotum off. There's no way I am getting anything done for a while.
