I'm sure that most minor colonial worlds on the fringes are gone, plus with the Dominion and later the UED stepping up military efforts, it makes sense for them to be finally moving forward. Terrans have stepped up to the plate, they aren't the backwater race they once were.

At least, thats how I see it (and honestly, that what I expect).

Would be cool to see them utilizing reverse engineered protoss technology (cybernetics and robotics, anyone?)

Actually the Terran weren't backwater at all. The replies for the majority of the ground troops had southern accents or speech mannerisms, but the air units had northern accents and speech mannerisms. Only the marines, tanks and Firebats to an extent were portrayed as hicks. The Terrans themselves weren't backwater either, they had a shit ton of worlds if you go by what's mentioned, but they just got bent over by the Toss and Zerg.

Well, that's what I thought originally, but I think of it this way.

The Terrans have battlecruisers that can shoot nukes at people. They have giant tanks that can deploy into gun platforms. As the war escalates and they suffer enormous losses, the next step in desperation is to try to even the odds by developing even heavier firepower, and adapt. The Thor is an excellent example of this.

The Thor sounds very cool, especially since an SCV can build it anywhere.  It puts a whole new dimension to Terran sieging.

Some of the best Terran players siege.  Imagine not only a bunker, turret, and 3 Seige Tanks pounding a base, but SCV's building Thors right there to prepare for the coming onslaught!  Meanwhile, the main Terran base is building a fleet of Vikings ready to swoop in, take out any air support, and then land in the middle of the enemy base while the Thors just start to pound!

Awesome.  I like the approach they are taking with the Terrans a little bit better than the Protoss.  Don't you?
I have seen the Desler.  I have tasted of his milk and honey.

Notes on Twilight Archon: Both HT and DT or a combo make it? ... That's RETARDED. So is this 1984 style where we are just to believe Archon and Dark Archon never existed?

The fuck are you talking about. I'm talking about the units, and their responses. Also you obviously didn't play SC, because the Confederacy had BCs, Wraiths and so on.

thats because the two sides are now united and no longer turn into archons in differet way. The way I see it, the twilight archon is a hybrid between the original archon and the dark archon.

The fact that the original conception of the Archon was divided into two units is what's retarded. The original concept of the Archon had spells the Dark Archon has.

Looks like the terrans are shaping up nicely. The Thor is a very cool unit. Some very interesting stuff going on, I'm starting to think it might get too complicated with every unit seeming to do so much. I'm not sure yet though. We'll see.

Those up close unit pictures look really ugly, but from the screenshots the units look great from the bird's eye view.
