Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
Well, I've managed to avoid being mortally sick since 2010. That could change with my immune system being compromised. I sure hope not, the feeling of my insides being torn up like corporate morality in America is not a fun one.
With luck I'll be able to pick up Rondo of Blood in a few days and experience different kinds of pain.
Also, we stole someone's cat.

Is it fluffy?
Also, about the Retribution teaser, where can I see it? Or is it not "public" yet?

It's better off if you DON'T see it.ArcCain wrote:Is it fluffy?

Only when Mesk actually managed to procure some of the UDK content should you even bother to take this seriously...

I'll probably just not post any further Retribution data publicly at all.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
A not so new AWP is out. I was hoping to have caught up on everything and be recording Rondo by now, but seeing as my infection is actually getting worse, all I've done so far is this edit. However, the DMC4 review is almost finished and the new AWP is nearly done as well.
Retribution's release plans have been changed in that I do not plan to make it public, only to specific individuals and my internal audience. A public release would require unanimous support from these individuals. Production of the UDK portion is beginning and public updates will be frozen until the fate of the project is decided in the coming months/years.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
Our 30th AWP is out. Horray! I'll finish up the DMC4 review pretty soon and edit this post when it's up.
I'm well aware that CC's server constantly goes down. I believe it has something to do with the site being a part of the notoriously incompetent .org network. No one ever seems to know what is going on, from people randomly updating php and blasting every single site and being forced to downgrade back, to Lavarinth banning himself from the network and the server admin not knowing how to unban him, to this unusual error as of late.
While I have made it abundantly clear to Lavarinth that we should jump ship ASAP, it always helps if you send him angry PM's or e-mails as well.
Remember that CC being down never affects the FTP files since it's a different server.

The DMC4 review is now up. This may be kind of a mess due to the conditions it was recorded/edited in. Whatevs. No one watches this stuff for coherency anyway.

Metroid 3 is art.
In that, it does not do what it shouldn't, but what it does it does so well, you feel a better person having played it.

I consider Awesome Possum, a game by the high quality Atari company, to be art.
Why?
It's such a high quality product. It is the heart and soul of what makes a good, clean American game.

On a serious note, it would be hilarious if you even do an LP of a flight simulator...

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
Do a rolling scissor.
edit\
Watching AWP #30.
To be honest, if you look in a specific way nothing can be considered "art". Calling something art is basically a human expression that you are profoundly touched by a piece of work, and you are in deep admiration for that piece of work. At least this is the modern definition.
For a medium like games to create "art", it requires that the creators are willing to express themselves with it. Painters, writers, and musicians in the middle ages who have created "arts" are mostly nameless, godless people who have no recognition in their age for their talents, but they still attend to making their "arts" simply because they want to express their own emotions. It is this lust for creation that drive people to put effort in their work.
