Also @tip: other than Watergate Nixon's presidency was pretty damn good, mostly because he was too busy with Watergate to do anything and had his cabinet, which was full of competent people that knew what they were doing, do everything. But then again thats like saying that a cake covered with mercury icing is a pretty good cake other than it will kill you.

If the economy is going down, the stock market can't really crash, it can only go down. If you hate America so much, move to Mexico.

I think its more of a loathing than hate.  Hatred is a pretty strong thing, and if I think the US was truly 'hated', the dollar would be crap right now.  Really though, the problems in the world right now are pretty much all solvable.  Gas is gonna be replaced by electric.  Greenhouse gasses can be solved if you just ignore them.  And racism is extinct in a lot of the world.  If you think about another era like the dark ages which was horrid, we really have it pretty nice right now - the world in general I mean.

... and does a difficult job that most of us would find highly stressful.  There's tough decisions to be made and someone always has to take the blame, and when you are in the public eye you will be criticized.  And no one is more in the public eye than the president.  Yeah yeah, I will acknowledge that he is capable and that is no small thing - thats why I don't go out of my way to criticize him. But there are also people out there who would probably do the job better that we didn't elect.  And certain factors, most importantly financing, who you know, and who you are, determines success in elections, not overall competency and leadership skills.  Still, democracy is the best system we have for now - an imperfect system for an imperfect world.

For our perfect world, we need COMMUNISM!
