Since you asked for it Ricky. Right now in my opinion the most important parts of the computer for gaming is the Graphics Card, HDD and your RAM. HDD is on the list only because of how large games have gotten as of late. Graphics Card is by far the most important, and CPU speed isn't a huge factor. It isn't a huge factor because very few games even make use of multi core processors and you can still get away with a high speed single core processor today and probably for the next few years.
tell that to my 2.5GHz celeron.
You just suck, I played multiple games on a 1.6ghz P4 at a semi competitive level and was fine.

Okay, guys. First of all, THANKS for the amount of info/suggestions! It's greatly appreciated.
I'm currently scavenging eBay, checking out other people's custom built machines and have found out that 800-1000 bucks may not cut it (duh!, you might say).
I'm willing to invest more, if this is indeed going to be my gaming/sound designing/creative machine -- so, as Desler said before, getting new gear is always fun!

You can probably build my machine for about 1500 if you have a mouse keyboard and monitor, maybe less.

That's nearly twice his initial amount. Mine was probably roughly around that if not a tad more- But I'm not willing to dish out that kind of money on my own.

*Shrugs* All I paid for was my harddrive. My work paid for the rest since I'm a designer so no issue for me. Go get a graphic design job.

So what did you get anyways Legion? I hate it when people ask for advice and don't share the end result.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize this thread was still active. The thing is, I've been in touch with some people who are going to assemble a thing like the one you showed me, Desler. I'm looking at a bit more than $1100 here, but I can manage that.
