The first complaint with sound in a movie shot in space is that there is sound at all.

It wouldn't be entertaining otherwise, would it?Sodon wrote: The first complaint with sound in a movie shot in space is that there is sound at all.
Right. Without sound, there would be complaints.BadManners! wrote:It wouldn't be entertaining otherwise, would it?Sodon wrote: The first complaint with sound in a movie shot in space is that there is sound at all.
Technically, there is no sound in that video except for the music which you assume isn't being played in space anyway. I did like the new BSG in that it tried to follow 2001's cue of relying on good music for space battle scenes instead of over-the-top sounds effects but it too fell into the lure of 80 decibel weapon sounds being blasted across the screen.Sodon wrote: The first complaint with sound in a movie shot in space is that there is sound at all.
If you read StarCraft: Revelations, Tassadar was actually trying to help the terrans on Chau Sara escape from the wave of infestation. It wasn't until the Terran Confederacy retaliated against him that he realized that, for the amount of terran lives he would save, it wasn't worth how much his fleet would lose. So he decided to destroy the planet without helping them.Mr. wrote: My biggest complaint about the original video posted was that... well... it's boring. The CGI in it looks good to me. But they don't use it for anything. It's too disjointed.
"YOU'VE FORCED MY HAND!"
Who, the terrans? Tassadar shows up to incinerate the surface of a planet, but they force his hand? And the entire Terran fleet there is three battlecruisers?
And the marine? Sure, it looked nice, but it was just a marine, hanging out by himself in the middle of nowhere. Then the planet gets shot.
To me, it was visually impressive, but otherwise boring.
I know, but a game would be boring if accurate.Maglok wrote: I read Revelations, he is quite correct. Name calling will be handled by the mods.
On the topic of sound in space. A series called Firefly (scifi-western) had all space shots be entirely silent. Somehow it did work. Was pretty cool, no air no sound.
Blizzard are masters. I'm all for easy plot devices, I think it's amazing they keep pulling them off. Even in Diablo. Entire worlds and realities revolve around some undefined crystals. Best solution ever.Maglok wrote: Ah Khaydarin 'Remedy for any plot' Crystals, yes yes.![]()
