LOLOLOLOL Aiursrage, there are soooooooooooooo many things wrong with that video. I mean, come on, the man is an idiot. He's an adherent of the "austrian school." He's on the board of the Ludwig von Mises institute. His people were actually the ones in charge at the beginning of the great depression.
Edit: Oh my fucking god. I continued watching. This man is a fucking moron.

Romney: "If General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye."

LOL@ "Detroit has done a remarkable job of designing and engineering its cars."
Anyone who looks can plainly see that they haven't. I mean, the government pulled Chrysler back from the brink of bankruptcy in the early 80s, and what did Chrysler do? It failed to invest anything at all into research or engineering for the next 8 years. But yeah, they're just doing as much as they can, right? It's the workers' faults.

So... you're saying bailing them out was useless?

Here's the thing. I have no sympathy for bad bailouts. If the government bails a company out, the company should have to follow certain guidelines. Say, for example, not spending all of the money on private jets and stupid shit.

I wasn't paying this much heed until someone told me they were bailing out car companies. Because there's such a huge market for American cars overseas. Or in America. I'm also probably weeks late on hearing about this, but seriously.

China wants to buy the big 3 auto companies. Good for them. Buy em up. There you go, GM, Ford, Chrysler. It may not be what you are looking for, but at least you have options. Now they are going back to DC to beg again for money, though this time two of the CEOs are driving because of the criticism they got last time for going to DC in private jets.

To be honest I do not think we should bailout the automakers. Its just money down the drain since our cars can not compete in the global market.

Cause its not like the ford f-series is the best selling car (well truck, but they are technically considered cars) is the best selling vehicle in the world or anything...
