Well, guess what?  People disagree. People have opposing views. Whether they come to fists or conversation, this is a fundamental truth of the human race.

What you're attempting to do is isolate me personally because you happen to dislike my viewpoint and declare that I'm the only one around here that has it, and then suggest that I'm wrong for having it.

There's a really good movie called "American President", and there's a great line in it that goes:

"He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections."

The other one being:

"America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country can't just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms. Then, you can stand up and sing about the "land of the free"."




So you think I'm polarizing?  The only thing you did was prove my point.

Disagreeing with someone doesn't mean you have "the guts" to say you "hate" them, and then spin it around saying I'm polarizing for calling you on it.

That's actually a perfect quotation to what the Republican Convention did tonight.  Fear.  Once again, using 9/11 and a mangled War on Terrorism as a tool to say only a Republican can lead it, and a Democrat can't.  Then you have Sarah Palin on stage blaming and attacking Obama for everything while vaguely mentioning just why the Hell she should be on that stage in the first place.

I've watched both conventions and there is a clear distinction between the two parties.  The Democrats were critical of Bush and John McCain, but they were inclusive of everyone and encouraged Republicans to be a part of the movement.  The Republicans have smeared Obama all across their speeches and used divisive rhetoric like "those liberals," "media elite," all those catch phrases that polarize this country.  That's why her speech was unbelievable.  There is no change on the McCain/Palin ticket, only the same divisive mudslinging to disguise the fact that 8 years of George Bush has devastated the U.S. internationally, economically, and socially.

Exactly.  It's like you're coming on here and saying "Hey, don't hate me because I hate you!  You hateful hater!"

You're saying that since people disagree, that's enough reason to hate each other?  For someone who seemed bothered by the "you're either with us or against us" mentality, you sure seem to borrow upon its teachings a good deal.

First of all, your viewpoint isn't even very clear.  Unless "Obama Democrats annoy me" is your whole thing, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that it isn't.

Still, suddenly you're talking like it's wrong that someone has challenged you, when in just the above paragraph you said that it's normal for people to disagree.  Sorry, it just sounds like a double standard.  Not trying to "isolate" you or anything.

I like this political discussion that's going on makes this place feel much more alive. Just remember were all Starcraft fans at heart.

It's doubtful McCain will win with Palin as his VP in my eyes, before I'd say he had a very good shot at the presidency.

You're damn right it's normal. The fact that you didn't get it means you're not ready to understand what it means to disagree.

My ability to disagree inherently gives me the ability to exercise my right to tell you as such. What you're suggesting is that if I disagree I'm supposed to roll over and take it:

Of course not.  People with disagreements certainly have the right to go back and forth debating each other.  And by all means they should, if they feel they must.  However... as you just said:

I think you need to take some of your own advice.  You went on the offensive, and AA7 called challenged it.  Yet, then you started to act as if he was out of line singling you out, when in fact you had already singled yourself out by making that first comment.  You started it.

Ah well.  This is a trifling matter at best, anyway.  Obviously the important thing here is... meaningless political bickering!!

I dunno.  I'm usually a little more than cynical when it comes to politicians from either side, but I can't help but be impressed by the Democrats this time.  While there's still plenty of mudslinging and rumormongering, it's significantly less than I've ever remembered it to be.  During the Democratic National Convention, I thought the speakers' arguments against McCain and Co. were rather polite.  By comparison to the Republican speakers, anyway.  Sheesh, those guys were riled up last night.

By the way, I'm curious...  when you said "No" to Lavv's post earlier, was that "No, I don't vote" or "No, I do vote"?  Since you don't seem to be too keen on any aspect of politics, I'm wondering who you'd vote for, if in fact you plan to.

Why did you use the same quote twice?  I'm not trying to single you out, RCX.  I don't have some personal vendetta against you.  Actually, I greatly admire and respect you.  I've played Wanderers of Sorceria so many times and your multi-player map too.  Sometimes, I'd even play it by myself just to try out all the heroes.  You're an ace in my book which is why I'm so perplexed by how defensive you are.  It's very difficult to have a political discussion this way.
