Re: StarCraft: Vile Egression [Completed]
Now that is what I would call a pleasent surprise!
Last time we talked about Vile Egression it seemed more that you are finished with the best SC/BW campaign nowadays.
Just two things:
- In the second video, at 3:00, there is maybe a better way to hide the spawning observers for the sequence. You can see them, because the Psi-Emitter has the detector ability. Deactivate detector for the Emitter in DatEdit and the sequence is lither...
- In the third video with the time limit, you get at 11:00 minutes an explanation text, but the timer runs along. Perhaps set a countdown break for the time, in which the text is displayed.
Also, the voice of Athracus, is that IskatuMesk? I'm not sure...

Yeah, with the SC II mapping boom these days, I was pretty sure this was forgotten. Nicely done.

1) The Psi-Emitter actually does not have a detector ability. When observers are created, you can see them briefly for a period of time before the cloak sets in.Eredalis wrote:Now that is what I would call a pleasent surprise!![]()

2) I tried that; felt too unrealistic. Also can't pause during the message cause observers will still be created for the blasts but won't actually be destroyed. lolcakes

Re: StarCraft: Vile Egression [Completed]
1) Yeah, right. My bad! It's been a while since I've put my hands on StarCraft and especially DatEdit.
But there's another way: Create the Observers on another place (where they cloaking) and then teleport them to the cinematic region, where they currently spawn.
2) Uhm, I mean Timer Pause, not Game Pause. The Timer Pause shouldn't affect the normal gameplay and the creation of the Observers.

Oh I meant the timer pause as well. Since your units are still moving, it felt a little awkward with the timer being paused and such. The timer is only there as a scare tactic and to bring depth to the crisis. In the end, you can only run out of time if you try really hard

Ok. Do you have considered the other suggestion that I've made?
And put the cards on the table: When do you plan to release Chapter 4 of Vile Egression?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
In all honesty though, I don't have any plans to make a public release at the moment, mainly because Chapter 4 is not standalone. However, check your PM box

Actually, Naitch is retired a few months after that statement . This awesome SCM from HBK at WM was his ticket for the definitely retirement. And TNA doesn't count...

Re: StarCraft: Vile Egression [Completed]
Can't you give the observers an invisible graphic to remove their brief appearance? IIRC the hallucination smoke puff still occurs even if the unit itself is invisible.
Also, much <3 for the videos.

Nah, I'm not- seems like everyone else is. It's not their project, it's his.
