So how insane would you have to be in order to try Diablo 3? I mean, you should not do that, I played it and by Jissus it was fucking bad, like worse then Mass Effect 3. But on the scale of insanity, how bad you have to be in order to even consider it?

That bad hu? Well shit.

Even if it would be painful I would find it quite amusing to see you rip Diablo 3 apart but that would mean that Blizzard get more money and we can´t have that.

Trudge through the broken agonizing mess that is Conan? Okay. The incredibly busted dullness of demon's souls? Alright. But the line is drawn somewhere between pain and masochism.

I wouldn't put myself through Diablo 3 no matter what was offered. Nothing is worth that kind of anguish to me. Just seeing little bits of it on HKS' stream was more than enough to tell me that some lard just can't be digested.

Did you know: in the behind the scenes bonus dvd the Game Directer, (I think it was him), say´s that when they pitched some of their ideas the dev team almost rioted but after some time they did what the board wanted anyway.

A new AWP is up.

Although my recordings have been very slow due to work on Retribution, that work on Retribution is pretty important to getting the project moving. So I'm not really worried.

I have completed one of the new MGEC wave 3 videos and will be slowly working on the others as I catch up with other work.

/e

I am currently contemplating if I even want to finish editing/releasing the old Hunted or just have the new one. The new one... is really that much better.

So it was not the original creator behind Darksiders 2?

Btw could you do a Dante´s Inferno summery/rant, as there is no LP of it that we can see, but you often make references to it.

Clarification regarding Final Fantasy series (as per mention in AWP #10):

Evaluating this series by recent games would be a bit unfair;

I've played to completion original versions of FF 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 until last tower (deleted save accidentally, will replay), 7, 8, 9.

The general consensus is that 16-bit and earlier games are highest quality tier (I hold fond feelings for FF7 because it was my first).

Also contains music by Nobuo Uematsu, who is my favorite composer of all time. The Master of the Battle Theme. He ceased working fulltime on FF after FF9.

I hope I can shed some light on the games:

1. The first one, exceedingly hard in parts, casual gamers of today would barf at the amount of surprise deaths and not-so-surprise grinding to be had, if you completed this one, hats off to you.

2. Did not play because leveling system is basically, the more Rodded you get, the stronger you become. Which goes against my whole philosophy of playing.

3. Very, very good. Foundation and template to all games to follow, establishes conventions and has a Job System #1 (a class system), which later became popularized in FFX-2 (iirc).

4. Considered by some to be the best story wise, or next to FF6. A masterpiece on all accounts. Ranks next to Chrono Trigger in my books.

5. Job System #2, and imo, the most fun class system, or leveling system, in FF series. Just fun combat and stuff. Can throw money at people. Last boss is a giant, dimension sprawling tentacle (oh well, tree actually).

6. Considered by some to be best in series, contains multiple semi-main branches of story with semi-main characters, who flow together and is in general, extremely epic, good, and awesome. Also contains Kefka, the best villain of all time for ever and ever.

7. My first, at the time was pretty brilliant, combat system is fun, story is fun, music may be the best track by Uematsu (my opinion, just opinion).

8. Was horrible, story, if it existed in japanese, got lost in google translate. Music is Godly Uematsu, played through for this reason alone.

9. I consider this to be the death of final fantasy games, and the game was basically a homage to FF1, and generally a good game, imo.

9 is my favourite but the ending is a bit bad. 8 was shit. 7 was good. Have not played the earlier.

Sort of liked 10´s gameplay, Gave up on 10-2 when the game bugged out. Gave up on 13 when the cinematic´s kept freezing, the world did not spawn, only guy´s floating in nothing and this was one hour in. Luckily I did not buy the game, just borrowed it from a friend.

FF8 is the perfect example of what happens to a game when they run out of funding half way through. Otherwise FF8 is hilarious because of all the min-maxing you can do that breaks the game at the most basic levels.

FF7 is overrated and shit, probably due to the god awful translation.

FFX-2 was never popular, despite having the best battle system.

Darksiders 2 was the death of the franchise as far as I'm concerned. The WoW direction was too much casual too little game. I guess if they gutted the gold pickups, the vendors, the quests, the "dungeons", the loot scaling, and the other idiotic shit they shoehorned into it, they might be able to scrape back to the first game. But probably not.

Dante's Inferno... I don't know if I have any of my review material and it's been long enough that I don't really want to do a full review on memory alone.

What if THQ fucked the original creator over and he never wanted Darksiders 2 to be what it is now?
