Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
In your review of DMC 1, I noticed you did not touch on particularly the music, as opposed to SFX.
I found it to be one of my favorite tracks I've heard in recent times. Really fitting, different and satisfactory.

Yeah I realized I forgot about music halfway through, then I forgot again in the second half of the review, too. I guess that means it was just average to me, though I definitely liked some tracks from it (and I know 3/4 have some tracks I really like too).

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
I got sidetracked and forgot about AWP 6, which is now available.
I got sidetracked because I cannot reformat that second 3tb external. You know, the one that was largely unusable because of the tens of millions of garbage files on it from recovering the other 3tb external. Long story short, I can't actually format or use either of them at all, and I think it's because of the enclosures themselves. I need to do some extremely irritating testing or just offload the work for a year+ until I get a new computer. Or gamble and buy new enclosures.
Luckily I didn't lose that data again, I was able to copy it off the drive successfully using TeraCopy. However, that data is now residing on a recording drive and eating about 2tb of space. Not a big deal, I've got lots more to work with for recording, but still a big annoyance.

Did you create a GPT partition ?
Because FAT cannot see beyond 2 Terabytes.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
Yup, when trying to create a GTP partition it fails on both drives.

I found and added the last Shanktarium recording I had made ages past to that series.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
A little bit but been delayed due to all the other shit going on. I was trying to build some loladin videos for MGEC only to reach the last stage (encoding) and discover that vegas can't encode the OBS files despite being able to preview and edit them fine. That and the hard drives is where a huge chunk of my week went. Ugh.
/edit
I wasted 3 days re-encoding those loladin videos entirely pointlessly and now I am entirely abandoning that aspect of MGEC wave 3. I then tried CRF and CBR settings and they still don't encode. I then tried using After Effects which promptly did not work any better than it did last time I tried it. Wow, what a fucking waste of time. I'll wait for OBS to get vegas-compliant encoding before I make those.
I'll be starting DMC 2 soon.
/edit
A significant amount of recording time has been placed into DMC2.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
The W drive has been making this unusual sound that woke me up. I thought a car was idling or something, but then I realized it was the hard drive making this repeated sharp grinding noise, like it was trying to read or write very slowly. Needless to say, nothing was actually going on.
I am now backing up the entire 2tb of the drive to the E drive, because I think it's close to failing as well.
This would be the last functional external to go if it fails, and the subsequential loss of reliable storage will be entirely crippling to recording.
It could be as dumb as windows doing some kind of stupid kernel leveling caching shit, but I am taking no chances. The data on this drive is far too valuable to remain complacent.

Re: LP Update/Comment Thread
The W drive stopped making noise but I am still backing up all valuable material.
Since I recently cleaned out a lot of base encodes and some other stuff I probably won't need to eat too much of my recording drive space, but this is still an ugly solution. What I really need is those two 3tb drives functional. In the absolute best case scenario I can switch my DVD drive with one and hope it works as an internal (I don't see why it shouldn't, why would two relatively new drives have the same problem when they are both using the same ancient external enclosure model, the problem is much more likely to be the enclosure.) Once I verify this actually works, aka whenever I am not lazy, all of these backups will go onto that drive and alleviate my E drive. I'm lucky I have a 4tb E drive right now. Without that extra space, I'd be so screwed.
At the end of the day I need a new motherboard with more SATA slots (through an expansion card probably) to resolve these kinds of issues once and for all. But my bank still hurts from all the previous expenditures, so I can't really solve the problem any time soon.

I finished up DMC2 recordings and I have a new AWP recorded but not processed. I'll get to processing it in the near future.
