ArcCain wrote:You mentioned in the middleware that you don´t like large Dev teams, Dragon Age Origins had over 100 if I remember and I hate that game. Most people I talked whit about it loved it but I just hate it, personally it´s mostly do to the story but and the world being boring to me but yeah...
A hundred people on a dev team is tiny, the CoD and Assassins Creed games have over five hundred people.

Metal Gears team of ca 25 people is tiny.

I sure hope you have a citation for that, because I can guarantee MGS2-4 have had more than 25 people working on them.
If you're talking about Metal Gear on the NES, that was 25 years ago, game development is vastly different.

If you look at the credits their is a lot of names from the dev team being repeated several times, and from the few images interviews I have seen from inside the dev teams local it is quite small and you can´t get that many people in to it, a guess would be that they are at least ca 25 but no more the ca 40.

AWP episode 3 is up. This time we talk a bit about storytelling, characters, etc.

I think you should take the time and count how many unique names appear on this list.

More than 40 people worked on this game, stop being a fucking retard.
Edit: In fact almost 40 people alone worked in the programming unit.

You actually sat down and counted them all? I was think of doing that just to be sure but did not think that it was important enough... dame I am still not going to do it. I would have to sit down and type all of the names and then see how many times they are repeated.
However I don´t see the need for harsh language, it is quite uncalled for.

I've been hard at work on Retribution, so not much video work has been done other than gradual verification of Hunted. My sleep order is shifting back to daytime, so it's likely once I get the energy I will finish recording DMC1 at the earliest convenience and begin edit work on that as well.

The next AWP cast is up. Hunted verification continues. I hope to get some time into DMC1/finish recording today or tomorrow.

Things seem to be progressing well - particularly the frequency with which you release AWPs. What kinds of circumstances would you be pulling guest speakers in for? I know Lav didn't talk much during the second-to-last AWP (granted, it was mostly back and forth between you and wibod).

Lav is just too much of a beta, probably since he just randomly showed up.

Ah, it wasn't staged then? He was just there at the time?
Yeah, no wonder he just left suddenly.

I think Lav was in another vent for that entire discussion anyways.
As for guests, it depends really. I think it may be more likely to happen when we reach specific archetypes of the broader subjects and feel it would be prudent to bring in an outside opinion. Between us, though, we have a huge amount of diverse experience and already have a hard time fitting that into 1-1:30 hours.
My video work is lagging behind because of Retribution, but Retribution is making very strong progress.

As far as guests go, I think next time we talk about story in games I will try and convince the Emu to join us. Mostly because he has relevant experience in both writing and games.

DMC1 is complete. Can't say when the editing and stuff will get done, though. I'll start on DMC2 when I feel ready.
