4850's in Crossfire eat the GTX280 and cost $400 for both opposed to $700 for a single card not to mention they use a fraction of the power, expect to be buying a new power supply with the nvidia cards in SLI.

I hope that's a joke. Nvidia typically tends to be lackluster but their new line has got to be the biggest shitpile in years.

They are deeply terrified of the new ATI and it's showing.

The 280 has trouble beating a 3900X2 on games designed for nVidia, even better is that it was beaten out in a game that wasn't designed for nVidia when it's supposed to be the hottest shit in years.

Indeed, obviously SLI (or Crossfire) setups have the potential to beat the newer cards.  New technology does tend to be overpriced because some people are willing to pay the money for the extra speed.  Anyone who sets up a 280 in an SLI setup is going to have the fastest rig possible, which is what appeals to most people who buy the newest technology first.

Yes... considering the 4850's are midrange, the fastest will, again, be ATI. :)

Anyways, you'd only SLI those things if you wanted to generate enough heat to warm up an office building and drive your electric bill through the roof.

Hey, I'm the worlds greatest authority on everything, so you take my advice and buy that shiny new NVIDIA video card.  Don't listen to this other guy, he isn't even a real doctor.

Listen buddy, this resume is not forged at all. It has a real signature from the Doctor's association.

Get the 1Terabyte samsung that came out. It's way faster than that HD.

I don't know much about intel parts or mobos, HKS would be able to tell you more, there.

Looks solid enough to run most games at moderate to high settings.  Did you read the reviews on the motherboard?  I don't know anything about it personally, but looks like some people are saying it might have stability issues.  In any case, go with something that has the potential for an SLI setup, in case you ever want to upgrade to one in the future.

I wouldn't bother with the 9800, it's apparently a boatload of fail. You're better off getting the 8800 or the 280.
