I'm not so sure, but I suspect that you might be on the right track, K()A.  I'm beginning to suspect that it's either the SC2 release date, or it will be when Blizzard finally announces the Zerg!

Yes the Millenium Bug but that wasn't the only fear at that time. Many Christians believe that the Second Coming of Jesus would be in the year 2000.  This will lead to, well, something,it's not quite clear what.....  Some believe the Earth will simply be destroyed,others think that true Christians will be raptured into heaven before that happens.

Quite frankly I don't believe in anything of those things (2012 theories included)

Wasn't this incorrect since it was supposed to be 2000 years after he died, not 2000 years after he was born, and people just didn't know their own religion? Correct me if I'm wrong.

We can't predict the date of Christ's return. This mystery is known only to God.

Talking about the 2012

On December 23rd 2012,the asteroid Apophis will relatively pass to a short distance from the Earth,and in this period the scientists will be able to calculate the mass and the trajectory for a possible safe Mission-Earth.
The same day,the Earth and Jupiter will line up and some think that this can affect the Apophis trajectory,but we will know our true destiny only in the 2029\2036
Anyway,the probability of a catastrophic impact,considering the possible complications is of 1 on 40.000....but honestly I don't think we are that unlucky......

According to the Maya's prophecies,the 2012 will be the end of the world as we know it.... 
ahahahah! how funny,they have not been able to foresee their end and would like to foresee our?

Conclusion:
I don't believe in the 2012 prophecies....
The only problem is that big asteroid,but I think that in the 2029 we will be able to do something to prevent this happening.
