Well, after thinking it for a while, I believe that it would be better to make this campaign for SCII. It is too large, and I haven't really many time to finish it before the SCII release. However, my other campaign, Fall and Rise, is also planned to be made for SCII. So, I've thought that it would be a better idea to "merge" the two campaigns (I mean, there will be two "introduction" episodes (one from each view point) but the end would be the same for the two races (remember, FAR is a terran campaign and MLfA is a protoss campaign)). Before the SCII release, however, I would make at least one little campaign.

So, what do you think about it? Do you like the idea?

So you're saying you're not doing this campaign until SC2, and you're not doing the other until SC2. BUT you're going to make an all-new campaign for SC1.

That's 3.

A piece of advice for any future "plans": keep em to yourself and only tell us about it when there's something to talk about.

That way we don't have to pay attention to threads that are essentially useless, and it saves you the awkwardness. ;)

Not 3. My Life for Aiur and Fall and Rise will be merged in a single campaign. And, I don't know if I'm going to do a SC1 campaign, however, so it can be only one.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do from now on. ;) Anyways, I've finished some maps of the campaign, so there's SOMETHING to talk about in this thread, actually. :)

I guess Omega's project  is much more of a development process. I don't think there's any real reason to push for a project now for SC1 anyway. I mean, the only real value to any SC1 campaign now is so for preparation for a SC2 remake right? I'm sure we've shared the bumps, here and there.

We are moving on to SC2 right?

Congrats to you Omega for the progress. If fate permits, and destiny holds, I'll still be downloading this campaign of yours when it moves on to SC2. And as always, man, have fun making the maps and story. ;)

By the way, where do we make threads for work-in-progress campaigns?

You can make your threads here, Gna, it's okay. Just keep it to one thread with updated posts ;)

Omega, remember one rule of thumb: If you can't finish a project, what makes you think you can finish a new one? Even if it's a terrible project, or even made in WarCraft 2, if you start something, don't stop. It'll only set off a chain reaction. I speak from experience.

Turning kind of like me. :P I used to make a lot of projects and good ideas but i never would finish them, which is why I only have had two campaigns ever complete but only the good one on here. I still kind of have that problem.

Well, it's really easy to handle this kind of issue. That its not really a problem. One advice I got from a mentor is that we sometimes instinctively know something, and act on it, but rarely arrive at a proper judgment on those "psionic emanations from the khala." ;)

What's required is to be able to pick up the good pieces you like best, the ability to scrap, throw away something, even if you'd invested emotion and energy into it. The idea is that every undertaking brings growth in the person, it's the will to use and dig into that "seed" that makes the difference.

Writing scripts and developing stories is a long process. Sure, we can just throw away anything at our fans, but the idea that you want the best for them makes a whole world of difference. And besides, most of your fans would want it now, but then critic harshly later. (or, maybe not)

Anyway, the tldr is this: (and I hope to help)
1. If you really want what you're doing, and enjoy it, do it for your sake. Others can join in on the fun later.
2. It's not bad or wrong to scap an idea or work you don't like.
3. Learning comes in both success and failures.
4. Expect less from your audience's input, as they are the audience.
5. "Destiny is the shelter of the weak; Fate is dictated by those who have power" -- Vicar Setharun, of the Dae'Uhl Tribunal. ;)

:o

Anyway, as for dealing with lack of community action, I've come to a sort of justification that most SC fans right now are really in a great deal of stress waiting for SC2. Thus, it might be natural that their desire is quite fixated on SC2. As consequence, you might notice some bumps. They're still so into SC2 and that having no real satisfaction from both story and gameplay, it is natural that things are quiet on our end.

Anyway, I'm sure Omega's a tank, and man, I'd feel sorry to lose one more Campaign Maker.

Sorry for the longest post, guys. Maybe, just maybe, someone could get some additional pylons from reading the above.

Well, the reason because I'm not going to work in this SC1 campaign anymore is because of the lack of time. The campaign was too large to finish it for SC1 before the arrival of SC2. From now, I'll follow Legion's advice: I'm not going to announce anything unless there's something to announce.

However, I'm not telling you that I'm going to stop working in SC1. I don't know if I'm going to release any further maps for SC1. However, I'm willing to help those of you who've trouble with your SC1 campaign (like Marine, GnaReffotsirk or Thalraxal) to speed up the progress. :)

Thank you for your post, GnaReffotsirk. It's really appreciated. ;)

I don`t  understand you. Really.  What do you want from SC2? All gamers will be occupied with Blizzard original campaing (actually it`s coming in 3 parts..), and they will go to b.net when they can, they really won`t be curius about "other campaigns" I guess. But the SC:BW community really likes campaigns, as far as I know, actually, when I see a good campaign, and I can play it, it`s like founding a diamond in the desert. It`s more appreciated to do your campaign in BW.  So if you have a little time, make that campaing for the hungry players, and don`t bother with the future. ;)

And I don't understand you. SC2 will be played by millions, of which even a small percentage will still be a more active campaign community then the entire SC1 campaign scene atm. This entire forum wants to see SC2.

Ok. Then I am alone. I don`t want to play a game with MBS, unmicroable phrases, and so on. After years of strategical improvement (witch is still on thanks to new maps), what will make a difference between the good and the bad player? The mechanical part. You will be angry for the game (hello MBS), just because "noobs" can beat you. Anyways you can still play for fun. Wait a minute.  ??? The game actually plays itself. :D
These were just random thoughts about SC2, yes I`m a bit sceptical, but hell, I don`t want to be right, but I fear I will be. :(
You can`t, (just as I can`t) fortale the future, can`t know how many player will like it, and play it anyways.
So I say it will be more fun if these campaigns would be released in present, instead of "not doing anything" refering to SC2.
I want campaigns, and you guys can make great campaigns. I am really alone?

You ramble, I mean ALOT!
It's hard to understand what your trying to say (not just the typos) or if your saying StarCraft 2 is going to suck. Have you seen any of the previews of the game or anything about it, if not then yes you are alone.

Don't be afraid of change NoName. SC2 will not be SC1, be happy for that, or we'd buy the exact same game again. SC2 gives us campaigners a lot more options (a movable camera for starters). I can guarantee you any of the guys here can do better things with SC2 then with SC1. As for game balance, that doesn't really even affect campaigns now does it?

Now let's get back on topic.

How is triggering going?

English isn`t my native language.
Yes I seen, and it will suck hard imo, never mind it will be good for casual gamers, just like most of you is.
