I'm curious what those little things are that unburrow when the lava recedes.
Like Rocco said, critters. You can see them walk in and burrow there as the lava comes in.
It's nice how they're giving detailed behaviors to various doodads and critters to add character to the environments. However I'm disappointed that the minimap doesn't appear to change during the flood.
Thanks much, sir! I had seen the videos on the homepage of sclegacy, but the heading said July 20 or something like that, so i thought maybe those were old and i still hadn't seen the blizzcon ones. guess i misread it. oh well. Thanks for clearing that up!

-> Mission Objectives
Personally, I hope there is a choice in the game menu to check many more mission objectives with their descriptions rather than being forced to show information on the side with the current mission objectives setup (which can be overloaded in some specific types of multiplayer maps).
-> The Hyperion's attacks
Since it can have multiple attacks of the same type while moving. Seems that either there will be a nice "barrage"-like ability mixed up with the ability to not have to stop moving to fire OR units' attacks in general can be modified so that you can move to fire.
-> The magma rising
There might be hope there would be instant (or maybe even "over time") terrain modifications via triggers although their magma system can just be a completely different thing. Still nice nonetheless.
EDIT : Some typo corrections.

Mission Objectives - Not sure what mean? If you mean get a pop-up list of objectives, there is one, I believe.
Magma - Stated many times by creators: "Yes, you can" in terms of the editor and things you can do.
Well sometimes there can be a minor lack of judgment and they might have decided to scrap the more descriptive mission objections from WC3 in favor of a more "on screen" only one (especially if they made the objectives more simple/compact in singleplayer in general).
As for magma/terrain modifications, good to know. Just that I don't read news/information about Starcraft II too often (and occasionally forget old news on top of it).

Nah, just like you could not currently see the achievements you could acquire in each map until after you finish the maps or view it on the achievement screen on the ship, they noted 'it's not final, and our intention is to make everything easily available from the start' in terms of important information such as objective and achievements.
I have a question (and this might very well have been answered already, so don't go all "RAWR"). Has there been any word as to whether or not the editor will allow us to create/use between-mission interphases like the Hyperion or bar? I sure hope so! I would mess around with that thing SO much! I can only hope they have character-creating applications similar to that of the Sims or Oblivion in it as well, though..... That might just be me getting my hopes up......

I believe there was something said to that effect, although I'm wondering about a lot of this stuff since every animation I've seen seems to link the mouth movement to the voice. Like those side-bars in the in-game mission too. Will people without VAing be SOL?
I bet that you would be able to have sprites do the generic "NYOM NYOM NYOM" motion with their mouth, but getting them to sync up perfectly would require you to crack the editor open and play with some 3D modeling. Even then, that might not work.

They use lip sync technology, you do not need to animate the lip movement.
You can create you own animations. This will require knowledge of animation. I'm talking Maya or 3DS, likely Maya. The animations scene "in between" will be created in the same fashion as creating new units in WarCraft III's modeling tools.
