Not... really. Not a lot that is unique has been done in wc3, and that was only accounted to jass programmers of the highest skill level. As far as custom RTS' are concerned, wc3 didn't deliver anything in that regard, it simply wasn't capable of supporting anything outside of its scope thanks to the pathing limit and other such things. I expect sc2 to be much the same way.

For the average joe, you will not be able to make anything interesting or exciting. That's one of the reasons dota is still around.

Also, booleans and integers and stuff are really easy.

And here I thought you were an experienced wc3 mapper, lav.

I really hope they do add an easy squelch option because there are so many people out there that can ruin Battle.net's fun, the 5 mintues you have to spend to type their name in correctly was absurd andit was very frequent.

To me, the easiest ways to add a squelch option are pretty much the following :

For a player in game : in the alliance options, have a squelch icon in the player's row.

For someone whispering in general over battle.net, click name in chat when it pops up have some small pop-up menu to click squelch.

WoW does do it with right clicks so I am sure that won't be a problem.

I put money on the Zerg.  They have the Devourer power to break through and take out that Carrier as well as the Battlecruiser, unless it can Yamato one of them in time.  The Terran player could cloak those Wraiths and move them behind the Devs, take them out, then try to pick off some Hydralisks.

However, there's too many Hydralisks and those Tanks are splashing their own team's Zealots and with only Vulture, those Goons are toast.  imho
