I suggest you to get another certified inspector... even though that would meant BIG money, I suggest you to do that as carbon monoxide is not something to be screwing around with, you're already schizophrenic it's not like severe mental retardation is going to help...

A CO detector is somewhat cheap from my research, from 20 $ to 50 $... Some could even be used to detect other natural gasses as well, or even be used as a fire/smoke detector... I suggest you order one now...

The landlord is apparently sending in two independent gas inspectors this week.

You don't seem like the type of guy to give a fuck enough to sue somebody over damages, but that's an option if they mishandle the situation.

Oh, I've been telling granny to sue that furnace company if they don't cough up what little bit of money they have of ours but waah lawyers cost too much jesus christ.

Would you rather spend money on a lawyer than a furnace replacement? If you're paying, she can't really complain.

The furnace is not on anymore. I told them to keep it off until all of the inspections have been made.

What Granny was describing to me that the first guy was saying did sound really fishy. I did some reading on furnaces, but not enough to make the call myself. Now there's doubt in the air. At not carbon monoxide. In a way that's a good thing, in a way a bad thing - I may never know why I have such horrible headaches.

Did the inspector turned the furnace back on before testing? I'm not questioning your competence, but I'm just saying this because I have a tendency to be really paranoid sometimes...
